  • Ujda Chaman

...does fall prey to a few rom-com cliches in the middle. But it perks up later on, and treats us to some delightfully well played and resonant scenes between the lead actors, sequences that bring a measure of proportionality to the film.

  • Judgemental Hai Kya

So apart from the occasionally engaging antics of Kangana Ranaut in the lead role, the film ends up with little educative or entertainment value. This movie has a good cast, but ultimately disappoints.

  • Kabir Singh

Gender prejudice or ideological persuasion notwithstanding, it is undeniable that the dialogue written for Shahid, and the skill with which he projects it on screen, makes this movie very watchable.

  • Bharat

...is no masterpiece, but it is that rare thing, a film that bonds a family with a nation, and does it with affection. Any element of divisiveness is excluded. And that, in itself, is a good enough reason to watch it.

  • De De Pyaar De

...does have a few funny moments, but its lens is locked at the fixed perspective of the entertainment that can be milked from the classic older man syndrome. In truth it is a movie without a modicum of the intelligence and sensitivity required to treat the subject seriously, and so, maybe, it is a good thing that it didn’t.

  • Kalank

So this is a film with expensive, but ultimately poor, production values. It is a multi-star movie, with actors trapped into delivering theatrical lines that make their personas unrecognisable. This is hugely disappointing.

  • Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota

This movie starts off with an interesting script idea and then jumps into the deep end of the dead pool. Were the film stylistically made, it might have worked, but it is so poorly mounted and shot, ‘B’ grade vibes are given off by the end of it.

  • Sonchiriya

Though not as impactful, dramatically, as other socio-politically inclined bandit movies in its genre, ‘Sonchiriya’ is cinematically well crafted.

  • Total Dhamaal

...the movie plays to the gallery by placing each set of characters in preposterous and farcical gags. The sheer ludicrousness of the set-ups - involving air, land and water transport - gets a few laughs.
