  • Kick

The setting seemed ripe for an entertaining no-brainer, but Kick will remain as forgettable as most money-spinners lately.

  • Humshakals

Humshakals should set several online forums on fire, with topics ranging from “Is Humshakals Really Worse Than Himmatwala?” to “Saif Ali Khan’s Mid-life Crisis – Desperate For A 100cr Hit” to “Must Sajid Khan Get To Make Films Only He And His Friends Enjoy?”

  • Heropanti

Director Sabbir Khan abandons the promise of a mindless action entertainer in favour of a more mindless emotional drama, which he naturally finds himself inept at.

  • The Xpose

...the film fails spectacularly is in its inability to come together as either an unapologetic camp-fest or serious murder mystery, trying to walk the fine line unsuccessfully. As a movie set against the backdrop of the Hindi film industry, it’s neither outrageous, nor sardonic, and definitely not cheesy enough.

  • Hawaa Hawaai

...there’s so much goodness, so much warmth and such honesty in Hawaa Hawaai’s intentions, it’s hard to not have your heart melt.

  • Main Tera Hero

Breezy at best and hilarious in parts, Main Tera Hero is a trip down memory lane, where the original king of comedy – I mean David Dhawan here – regains some of his touch.

  • Lakshmi

It’s heartening to see women’s issues being taken up by filmmakers, and what Lakshmi lacks in storytelling, it makes up with intention and sincerity.

  • Queen

...a consistently funny and heart-warming film made of little gems, Kangana Ranaut being the brightest, biggest jewel of the piece.

  • Shaadi Ke Side Effects

...displays massive potential, but never quite manages to live up to it. It tries to be too many things at once – a slice-of-life comedy, a tearjerker, commentary on marriage – without really managing to nail any one of them.

  • Highway

...Imtiaz Ali’s most honest, personal film and, hopefully, the beginning of a chapter in his career that will be dictated more by craft and intention and less by commerce and entertainment.

  • Gunday

...there’s little that oiled physiques, buttoned-down shirts and pectoral muscles can achieve without a decent script or good direction. Gunday has neither.

  • Jai Ho

...is so sloppily put-together, you wonder if footage of the actor taking a nap over two hours would have been more entertaining.

  • Satya 2

...in a sense, Varma is challenging audiences to compare him against his younger self. The results aren’t pretty.
