De Dana Dan
...targeted at the masses and it delivers laughter in abundance. Leave your brains behind to enjoy this madcap entertainer!
It would be harsh to run it down by drawing unnecessary comparisons with classic comedies. De Dana Dan has tremendous entertainment value. Given the style of most Bollywood comedies - De Dana Dan is the funniest film of the season.
...a quickie flick which is hastily written, rapidly filmed, has swift storytelling and speeding characters giving you no time to breathe, gasp, feel, absorb react or relate.
...a film that begins soundly and then slips into cuckoo land, only because the primary characters and their story is side-tracked for a compendium of tertiary tales.
Don't ask for any logic or reasoning. The situations are purely coincidental guaranteed to give you a laugh.
If you're in the mood for a ton of laughs, this slapstick riot is for you. That is, of course, you can keep up.
And I finally understood why the credits in many Priyadarshan films say filmed by Priyadarshan instead of directed by Priyadarshan. Because there is little sense that someone is actually directing this circus.
...a comedy in search of a hocus focus.
...senseless, mad-cap, over-the-top, cacophonic comedy.
An hour into ‘De Dana Dan’, you are at the exact same point you were the last time Priydarshan got a bunch of people to chase their tails in an enclosed space: struggling to keep your eyes open.
The multitude of characters in the second half and the unusually long climax only adds to the woes of viewers.
One of Priyadarshan's weakest film in recent memory.
...a loud, overlong collection of slapstick subplots...
...is a new low for comedy as a whole.
...carry ear plugs with you, or a Saridon. Or both. A migraine is guaranteed.
...extra loud and grating experience, with everyone trying a bit too hard at that same mish mash of sex, money marriage comedy garnished with boringly familiar ingredients.
Little will make sense, or is meant to. There is simply no recess from this excess.
...Priyadarshan touches a new low.
No fun in this funny movie.
De Dana Dan is not a film. It's a series of skits strung together to convey a sense of baggy fun and frivolous entertainment.
Somewhere in the middle of the mindless antics of this loud and slap-happy ensemble cast, Priyadarshan hammers the final nail in the coffin of all stories that could be called comedy.
