Bhaiaji Superhittt
...has been in the making for almost a decade, but its mediocrity can hardly be blamed on the delay.

Besharam
...a mixed bag of goods. It is very funny at the start but after a while the laughs come only in spurts.

Begum Jaan
Begum Jaan’s intriguing basic concept deserves a writer who could have expanded on it to better effect. And the lovely Vidya Balan deserves better than this soulless film.

Befikre
...is watchable for its packaging alone and not for what lies beneath. Even Ranveer Singh and Vaani Kapoor’s boundless verve, all that kissing, unbridled sex and tiny Western clothing cannot mask the story’s traditionalist core.

Bank Chor
Despite its many misses, Bank Chor has more verve. Whatever little progress Bumpy has made as a filmmaker, however, is far outweighed by the insidious messaging of this film which cashes in on the prejudices that wrack Indian society today below a mask of good intentions, comedy and thrills.

Bala
...inconsistent characterisation and the team's lack of awareness of their own prejudice robs Bala of much of its value.

Bajrangi Bhaijaan
I can’t remember the last time I enjoyed a Salman Khan film so much.

Bajirao Mastani
Despite its shortcomings then, this is a brave and beautiful film – beautiful to look at, beautiful in its position on religion, brave in its take on history, brave in its unwillingness to paint religious groups or its primary characters as black or white.

Baahubali 2: The Conclusion
..is a cocktail of fun stunts, attractive stars, grand settings, terrible acting, conflicted attitudes and closeted conservatism.
Apr 2017

Badrinath Ki Dulhania
...a dishonest film, neither fully committed to the causes it apparently espouses nor to its own closeted conservatism.

Badlapur
...boasts of many memorable scenes peopled with brilliant actors. The overall feeling though is one of a sporadically, episodically effective film that doesn’t quite add up.

Babumoshai Bandookbaaz

Baar Baar Dekho
If I had the power to go back in time and any power over Team Baar Baar Dekho, I would cajole or bully them into rewriting the second half of their script. In the present though, in the here and now, this is a film that starts off well but fails to sustain itself.

Baaghi 3
You can imagine how uninspiring the script is that despite all this high-adrenaline action, Baaghi 3 lacks fire.

Baaghi 2
Tiger Shroff is just one of many passionless ingredients in this passionless film.

B.A. Pass
This is an uncommon film done in by a hesitation to go the whole nine yards. Still, the atmospherics are terrific, and for that it’s worth a watch.

Article 15
...is the best that Indian cinema can be in these troubled times if it chooses to hold a mirror up to our society, compelling us to confront the worst that we are and the best that we can be when we are not busy saving our own skins.

Miss Tanakpur Haazir Ho
...could have sparked off a discussion on the subject, but in its confusion about the tone it should take and in the absence of a commitment to the cause it seems to be espousing, it ends up being a lukewarm film.

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil

Vishwaroop II
Apart from the shock value of the extreme violence it features and a vital statement about fundamentalism-versus-education, Vishwaroop II has nothing new to offer. It is a scar on Haasan’s filmography and a dead bore.

Ankur Arora Murder Case
For the sake of good cinema one can only hope that Suhail Tatari gets back on his feet, brushes himself off and finds a great script in which he invests sincerity and conviction, to make a film that’s worthy of his talent. Ankur Arora Murder Case is not that film.

Andhadhun
...a black comedy that is breathless in its pace and breathtaking in the scope of its imagination, linking seemingly random occurrences in the cosmos, and with all its entertainment value, arriving at an unexpectedly thoughtful study of both kismet and human nature.
