  • Jism - 2

Going by the promos, we were hoping for India’s answer to Basic Instinct. What we got is something that provides lots of unintentional laughter and nothing more -- not even cheap thrills...

  • 1920 - Evil Returns

We would have forgotten and forgiven the lax pace, the hotchpotch screenplay and shoddy editing if Tia Bajpai was scary and/or sexy. That she is neither is the main flaw of the film.

  • Super Nani

The only take-away from the film is that Rekha is as beautiful, as vivacious and super talented as ever and that our writers should really think of giving her meaningful roles that suit her stature.

  • Gulaab Gang

What could have been a deeply sensitive film about the fight of rural women for a better life is reduced to a superficial product.

  • Bullett Raja

Tigmanshu shouldn’t try to copy Prabhudeva but make straight-from-the-heart films that he’s famous for. We missed the comic punches and the black humour of his earlier efforts. He doesn’t deserve this and neither do we.

  • Marjaavaan

If Marjaavaan is an attempt to turn Sidharth Malhotra into a bonafide massy action star then it fails to do so on all counts.

  • Amavas

We learn from Amavas that a Gothic mansion, jump cuts galore and red herrings aplenty thrown into the mix sadly don’t translate into a horror film.

  • Bewakoofiyaan

The film doesn’t offer us an escape from reality nor does it warn us against the evils of consumerism. It isn’t even an out-and-out comedy.

  • Coolie No.1

David Dhawan survived because he gave the audience what they wanted but he seems to have misread the changed perception here...

  • Marudhar Express

The film had the potential to be a bitter-sweet comedy about relationships but in its present form, remains a classic case of opportunity gone waste.

  • Fraud Saiyaan

Comedies need an emotional track for them to work. Or at least the gags need to be structured like a Mexican Wave so that you lose yourself in the slapstick and forget the logic. The present film fails on both counts.

  • Fraud Saiyaan

One expects to see lavish war scenes with a scintillating fight to the finish. The screenplay builds up to it but fails to deliver the coup de grace.

  • Heropanti

The Hindi remake remains faithful to its Telugu original in every frame and perhaps that’s it Achilles’ heel. A deviation in the treatment and narrative would have made it a better film.

  • Rangeela Raja

Both producer Pahlaj Nihalani and his director Sikander Bharti seems to be stuck in the ’80s and ’90s. Everything is brushed with a stroke of broad comedy and a sensitive subject like rape rehabilitation is reduced to being a family drama.

  • The Shaukeens

...a lopsided effort – some scenes leave you cringing while others have you rolling on the floor with laughter. A little more quality control would have given us a far better film...
