102 Not Out
...if you step away from the casting coup, the loud violins that accompany the moralising and the mawkish sentimentality could put you off. Should have been a Sunday afternoon theatrical production, with a family hug afterwards...

1920 London
The movie starts out to be interesting then goes through an entire checklist of horror movie cliches until you are weary...

Hokey science, meet Rajinikanth. This odd film ODs on special effects but is neither an Akshay Kumar film, nor is it a Rajini film.

3 Storeys
It's almost good, and then it isn't because you've read the story somewhere. It's an idea that's not new and yet, a decent effort. Would have been smarter move to put it straight to Netflix or Amazon.

31st October
...when a film attempts to dramatise the events in an amateurish way, the heart-wrenching awfulness of those events is lost. The audience feels no empathy in the fake emotions and the graphic blood and gore fails too.

7 Hours To Go
You want to empathise, take sides - the cops or the hostage taker - but the story is too convoluted for us to care.

A Flying Jatt
...so needlessly Bollywoodised with a song and dance and everything seems to be happening so slowly you lose patience with it, despite some genuinely funny moments.

Aagaya Hero
The cliches are horrendous and unending. The film too is shot as if the story was something to add between songs.

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil
...the film becomes more of a mushkil than a tale of dils. Suffering from a case of 'One-sided love'? Then rest assured, you will be cured of the affliction.

Watch this movie, because a story of a rescue of this scale needs to be told. Watch this movie because we need more everyday hero tales...

Many horror tropes later, you realise that it's the slow pace of the film that's the real killer.

Anaarkali Of Aarah
Swara Bhaskar holds the movie in her manicured hands. She is magnificent. You can't help but stare at her, unabashedly.

Andhadhun
It's fun. It's different. It's dark as dark can get. And the performances are all ace. But you begin to say, 'Oh no, not another twist!' in the meandering second half. The end? Worth waiting for.

Angrezi Mein Kehte Hain
I didn't believe the end. But the movie is so involving that I was smiling and crying and laughing and nodding at this tale of kidnapped grooms.

Article 15
The film tackles the tensions well, has shades of 'Mulk' (made by the same filmmaker) but the predictability of a cop's dilemma - to go by the rule book or instinct - remains the same.
