  • Panga

A charming, uplifting film, about a mother going about the business of being a mother, the warmth of which you will feel well after you have left the theatre.

  • AK vs AK

Meta has a certain charm. But the tell-don’t-show climax that is typical of thrillers is a put-off. Even so, it is an interesting watch for how the medium is used.

...is a set of strong 4 short films. Each one of them is well-made and takes you into its own little world.

  • Raazi

A thriller that has your heart beating constantly for the protagonist’s safety is gripping because it is based on real life events and has strong performances.

  • Tribhanga

So, so many difficult issues dealt with a light, matter-of-factly hand. Lots of ground covered in a breezy 90 minutes without being rushed. An engaging watch from start to finish.

  • Phoonk 2

Not that it was very difficult to make anything better than the first in this series, yet, this one came as a pleasant shock.

  • Guzaarish

...is an art museum. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is the perfectly chiseled curator and Hrithik Roshan an almost statue. And this once, it’s not his acting I’m complaining about, the script demands him to stay put. You are watching them etched in many exotic, exquisite paintings frame after frame. So, what if the very basis of the story is pointless and there are gaping holes which are difficult to digest.

  • Club 60

A film that uses the disarming charm of actors like Farouque Shaikh, Sarika, Raghuveer Yadav and more. Writing that makes you care about the characters they play.

  • Delhi Belly

It's hip to be abusive, and it's as cool to be liberal about sex as it is to be about toilet humor. And that's exactly what Delhi Belly is - hip.

  • Murder 2

It's one of those films where you come out with only the villain and what he is capable of. If you can handle creepy, sexual violence, go for it. It is sure to provide "that" kind of a thrill.

  • Right Yaaa Wrong

An engaging story is told using a number of clever twists. The intelligent outwitting however is let down by some awful performances and a rather slowed-down pace.

  • Anjaana Anjaani

After all, you can say "boy meets girl" only in so many different ways. Despite that when you have fun; and you care for the boy and the girl; you know you are watching a brilliant film.

  • Simran

...has a perfectly flawed lead character, played almost to perfection by Kangna Ranaut, the film has a close-to-perfect climax too. If only, the plot didn't accelerate to being outland-ish mid-way.

  • Hasee Toh Phasee

A girl-meets-boy story with a difference. A girl-meets-boy story which works despite typical moments that qualify a film as a romantic comedy.

  • Airlift

A dusty desert wrought with equal measure of humanity and inhumanity. A film that shows you both facets without making much ado about either. Ought to be watched because these 'too good to be true' events are true.

  • Panipat

A Hindi war movie that spends a lot more time on strategy than action extravaganza. ‘True’ to real-life or not, the politics of the situation engaged me enough to think that digesting the complexity needed the 3-hour run-time.

  • Chakravyuh

An engaging, must-be-heard story told with great balance. Yet, half-hearted focus on relationships distracts from the main story.

  • Manjhi

Leaves you worried from within. Worried for the country, worried for humanity. Yes, that means it is a film you must watch at least once, even if you don't rush to the theater.
