  • Aladin

...it's a worthy watch, especially for the kids. It's also a rare reminder that you can have good, clean fun at the movies.

  • Jail

Because it's well-intentioned and settles for a hopeful message, you stay with the film despite the fact that it's never quite compelling.

  • Paa

Few filmmakers stick their necks out to tell difficult and different stories in these days of mindless entertainers making potloads of money. For their intentions alone, the makers of Paa deserve a thumbs-up.

  • Radio

It requires patience to appreciate it fully, but deserves a viewing because films like this are hard to find.

  • Radio

The film, in the end, is a broad entertainer that plays to the gallery, well-intentioned but sadly muddled.

...has the ingredients for a movie one would probably enjoy very much, but somehow they never come together.

  • Radio

doesn't work because it's hard to empathize with any of the characters and because the actors fail to rise above the flawed script.

  • Radio

...well-worn, formulaic fare that might appeal to viewers who find comfort in the familiar, and who are still excited by those hackneyed stories about righteous Indian girls who show materialistic NRI boys the error of their ways.

  • Chance Pe Dance

doesn't work because you feel no empathy for its protagonist. The film's writers -- if you can call them that, considering there is no script to speak of -- fail to invest even a hint of vulnerability in Sameer.

  • Ishqiya

...a delicious little film that teeters dangerously between saucy comedy and suspenseful noir. Unapologetically adult in its relationships, its language and its humor, the film sparkles for its inspired writing and uncompromised direction.

  • Rann

What ultimately comes in the way of Rann achieving the potential of its premise is the over-use of cliche in the absence of original writing.

  • Striker

Remarkably shot and competently performed, the film is let down by a confused script that can't decide what point to make.

  • My Name is Khan

The film shamelessly tugs at your heartstrings and on more than one occasion wallops you to weep. Aided by solid camerawork, tight editing and a layered story, Johar crafts an engaging, stirring saga that is earnest and noble. With this message movie in the mainstream format, the director takes a step in the right direction.

  • Teen Patti

is an incoherent mess of logic-defying scenes that never come together as a fluid script. It's got snazzy camerawork and occasionally hip production design, but none of that matters in the end.

  • Road, Movie

Unpredictable and occasionally charming, Road, Movie has its moments. But in the end it feels too long, a tad boring, and pretentious even.

  • Right Yaaa Wrong

Cleverly plotted and never revealing all its cards at once, the film is a smart thriller. And yet the director fails to deliver a tight, slick Bollywood entertainer on the lines of those Abbas-Mustan whodunits, because his treatment's so archaic.
