  • I M 24

There are some good, sincere moments in the film. But I expected something fresher from Saurabh Shukla, who is also the writer. And overall, more edge.

  • Mardaani

The resolution, showcasing bloody vigilante-ism, is problematic. Is that the only definition of ‘mardaani’, and is that something to be celebrated? Something more pragmatic, and yes, more real, would have served its consistently watchable leading lady, better.

  • Junglee

There’s not one ounce of complexity in the movie, unspooling in such a linear fashion that even two-year-olds would have no difficulty in understanding it. Maybe that’s the demographic the film will appeal to, with its bright colours and straight-forward story-line, and a smiling hero who can take on an army of scowling bad guys single-handedly.

Salman is the last Khan standing. It makes not a whit of difference to him and his directors that the space for retrofitted 70s packages has shrunk to nothing...

  • The Xpose

The murder mystery set in the backdrop of big bad tinseltown should have been pacy and cheesy and racy, but ends up being a bit of a drag. Despite all the fun and games.

It’s not that Anushka Sharma, who has also produced the film, is not trying hard. She is, and up to a point, she is in fine fettle. But at the point when she turns from flee to fight, I stopped believing.

  • Mom

Sridevi has to do the heavy-lifting of the film, as actors Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Akshaye Khanna, Sajal Ali and Adnan Siddiqui are not left with enough in hand. It gets so busy keeping Sridevi at the centre-stage that this rape-and-revenge drama turns less impactful.

  • That Girl in Yellow Boots

Anurag Kashyap's ability to create this kind of grunge, and characters who live on the margins, is matchless. But by now we've got used to it, as well as his skill in laying it out for our delectation. By now we want the next level.

Turns out to be a dampener. Not because it doesn’t have interesting actors. Nor because it doesn’t have interesting situations. But because it comes off merely as 'Seher' redux, minus its power.

  • Sniff

What an absolutely lovely premise for a film crafted for children, which adults can potentially also enjoy. But Amol Gupte, who gave us the delightful Stanley Ka Dabba, falters with this one, because of a slack plot and treatment.

  • Fatso

...despite a standout turn from Ranvir Shorey as the eponymous lead, and some nicely realized segments, 'Fatso' comes off flat and tonally confused.

  • Hunterrr

...could have been a genuinely ‘adult’ comedy of manners, but it stays right where it begins, the phrase ‘coming-of-age’ functioning more as eliciting an embarrassed titter than reaching the goal-post.
