The film flits between being a bad video game and a sordid semi-porn film. Get a ticket for someone you hate. It’s an assault throughout.

  • Dekh Tamasha Dekh

Neither a biting enough political satire, nor a moving drama— Dekh Tamasha Dekh hangs precariously in-between. You understand the intention, you even connect with a few scenes, but overall the film is dismal.

The film is stylish yes, but makes the fatal mistake of ODing. So you have at least three violent fights set against pacy music - a repetitive tactic. Conversations ramble on, making no point.

  • Darr @The Mall

...if you’re in the mood for a decent horror flick that has an equal number of spooky and dry moments, you won’t mind this one.

...a reasonably breezy watch. You might enjoy the contemporary romance, if you let the flaws pass.

  • Dabangg

...an evolved version of Wanted. The hero is not all-pervasive. He can beat up a roomful of baddies but also shed a tear over his estranged family. These nuances are appreciable, but the film lacks the pace and drama of a full-blown entertainer.

  • Daawat-e-Ishq

...a foodie rom-com with a well-intentioned message. Perhaps it's too much to put into one film, and all you get is undercooked, bland biryani, where the flavours clash instead of complementing each other.

...treatment of the subject is scattered and ridden with flashbacks. The film seems to have internalised its title - 'it's good to be bad'.

This is a delicious slice-of-life film that puts forth various issues, and celebrates the unintended and often dark humour that we see all around us.

The film is well-packaged and looks good. But the story disappoints. Humour is consistent but not as funny as in other rom-coms.

  • Club 60

The film is well-intentioned, and does have a few heartfelt moments that draw you in. But that's little respite in the otherwise muddled film.

So why was this film made? Do the makers really expect the audience to be happy with a simplistic horror film that couldn’t scare a child?

The film doesn’t quite work to its full potential. You might want to sample it for the story, formidable performances and few arresting moments.

  • City Of Gold

One can call the film somewhat gripping, but hardly one that explores the mill worker’s tribulations with an honest heart.

Producer-writer-director Suneet Arora takes a concept that could have translated into a suspenseful, edgy film. Instead, what you get is a moral-science lesson, the tough-love way.

  • Chillar Party

The songs have lyrics likening children to "jalebiyon ke tukde". What a wonderful, apt metaphor. The film's great too, don't miss!

  • Chennai Express

The director folds in the massive stars, the hit music, the humour and an immersing story situation to bring you a fairly entertaining ride.

This is an encouraging debut by director writer-director Bikas Ranjan Mishra, who doesn’t shy away from portraying India’s worst side. And then, he adds hope.
