Dum Laga Ke Haisha
...Katariya is a master weaver, smoothly bringing together the different threads in the story culminating in a heart-warming climax that is sweet but not manipulative, emotional not over-wrought, and like the rest of the film, utterly real.

Drishyam
What makes this Drishyam (even) more interesting than the original though, is the tweaking – both in the casting and writing – of its women and the central man-woman relationship.

Dream Girl
Just when you think Dream Girl has succumbed to what critics have in the past called The Curse of the Second Half though, it picks up once again thanks to certain cast members with unfailing comic timing.

Dil Dhadakne Do
...is not flawless, but barring that nutty ending, I had a rollicking good time watching it because it is funny, believable and sweet, the cast is lovely and most of all, because now that I’ve seen it, I’ve fallen in love with both Ranveer Singh and Anil Kapoor.

Dhanak
There’s a whole constellation twinkling at us off screen from this warmly appealing, life-affirming film.

Dhadak
...is just plain hollow. Even as a conventional rich-girl-poor-boy romance, it fails miserably, because of the superficially written bond between the lead pair.

Dekh Tamasha Dekh
This is a film that should be compulsory viewing in social science classes across the country.

Dedh Ishqiya
Nothing in this film is what it seems. Not even the genre. It’s a thriller, yet it stubbornly refuses to be frenetic, revealing its cards one step at a time, at its very own pace, as if teasing the viewer or cajoling us to forget that there might be another twist coming up.

Dear Zindagi
I loved SRK in the film, Bhatt is always a pleasure to watch, the story visits many themes that are uncommon in Bollywood, and several of the discussions are either witty or insightful or both. Overall though, the film comes across as being not enough because the writing needed more substance.

Dangal
...may be confusingly cautious around popular notions on the parental front, but in the matter of sporting achievement it does not mince words: silver is second best, it tells us unequivocally, and there is nothing wrong in aiming for gold.

Dabangg 2
The film is fun and funny only in parts, not a complete washout but certainly a completely unworthy successor to Dabangg.

Daawat-e-Ishq

Daas Dev
A Devdas-cum-Hamlet story still feels like it is worth a shot, perhaps even another shot by Mishra, but this one fails to live up to its promise despite an excellent central performance and an unusual interpretation of two iconic literary characters.

D-Day
Why bother with common sense and logic when populism has been known to work magic at the box-office? Why bother even if it messes up an otherwise decent film?

Court
It’s the simplest of films, yet unimaginably complex. It’s straightforward yet marvelously thoughtful. In its understatement lies melodrama. In its refusal to dress itself up lies its richness.

Commando 2
The film’s impressive action scenes and pretty hero cannot make up for its limited substance, which matters particularly because the action is not unrelenting.

Coffee Bloom
...I found Coffee Bloom an unexpectedly satisfying film. It is paced in a fashion that might be considered too slow and too languid by some. To me though it felt relaxed, reflective, unusual and offbeat.
