  • Shab

The writing also lacks finesse in certain scenes and feels disjointed or incomplete. There is a cloud of a Madhur Bhandarkar film like Page 3 or Fashion that looms large over the second half of Shab.

  • Jalebi

The treatment is like a Sridevi-Jeetendra-Jaya Prada South remake from the ’80s. And you don’t empathise with the leads because neither their passion nor pain translates.

  • AK vs AK

Watch AK vs AK for the character build-up of Anil Kapoor and Anurag Kashyap done brilliantly by them as well as the director Vikramaditya Motwane but not for the bizarre plot (uh-oh!).

  • Thugs Of Hindostan

...it is a pity no one thought of writing a more novel story, especially when they had two superstars on board their ship. It is a pity that after spending so much  on VFX, gimmickry and virgin locales of Malta, no one thought it appropriate to fit the whole thing in with more emotion and entertainment.

...is one of the best films to come out this year with an applause worthy performance by Arjun Rampal, however, it fails to leave an impression on you with its weak narrative and sluggish pace.

  • Kochadaiiyaan

Conventional fans might find it a bit hard to worship their hero in this CGI avatar, but Kochadaiiyaan is a big bold step in opening new frontiers to film making, a step that deserves to be supported.

  • Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana

...it’s a film that had potential to be a sweet love story. However, this one doesn’t quite get there because it’s not passionate enough on any count—be it in its social messaging--or be it in the romance.

  • Romeo Akbar Walter

As the espionage thriller’s lead actor, John, who plays a cucumber-cool spy, stays within character. But he is let down by mediocre writing and amateur direction. As a result, the pace is sluggish.

  • Ragini MMS

...doesn't have a very profound or a very hatke story to tell. The director tries to couple a social horror story with a paranormal horror story to create an interesting offering.

...Shankar’s story is pedestrian, plebeian and even plain puerile. But the visuals and sounds are compelling enough to keep you mesmerised at least for a bit.

  • Aiyyaa

Though the film is limited by cheesy dialogues and prosaism, it proves to be an entertainer and a definite treat for every Rani Mukerji fan.

  • Mickey Virus

Unfortunately the innovation of the plot wears out too soon. The writers seem to hit a sort of roadblock in the second half not knowing where to take the story.
