  • Ki & Ka

...wants to be important, it wants to be revolutionary, it wants to be a feminist statement of equality. Admirable, sure. But it doesn't know how.

  • Ki & Ka

This is a recurring problem in Balki’s filmmaking. Certainly, he comes up with the most unique ideas, infuses them with a whimsical energy but in his eagerness to impress, he loses all subtlety.

  • Kapoor & Sons

A likeable enough little film with fine characters, Kapoor & Sons tries too hard to turn on the water works at the end, going from a good, mellow drama to a full-blown melodrama by the end of it all.

  • Teraa Surroor

If watching a 100-something minutes long music video starring a deadpan, poor man's Sunil Shetty strutting self-importantly in Salman's hand-me-down is your kind of entertainment, book your ticket RIGHT NOW.

  • Zubaan

The whole film emerges, sadly, like one of those ads where you can half-hum the song but you forget what it was for.

  • Aligarh

...the portrayal Aligarh offers is refreshing and respectful. But it’s much too multifaceted, at times for its own good, to be acknowledged for just that.

  • Sanam Re

In this schizophrenic rubbish -- for it’s certainly not a script, hardly a synopsis -- landscapes change faster than its cast’s wardrobe and characters suddenly appear or mysteriously vanish at the director’s whim.

  • Fitoor

...Kapoor casts two attractive people where he ought have chosen a couple of actual actors instead, and thus it becomes hard to care about the protagonists or their sundered hearts, and despite aesthetic appeal, what we end up with is -- at best -- a screensaver.

  • Ghayal Once Again

The action hero returns to serve some old fashioned justice in Ghayal Once Again as the still seething, still suffering Ajay Mehra like only he can. If also it could deliver the stamp of sharp, solid filmmaking like only the man who conceived Ajay Mehra can.

  • Mastizaade

Even the absolute daftest of sex comedies have room for something sharp and clever and cheeky. Because Austin Powers minus the groovy is just pervy, baby, pervy.

  • Airlift

...is compelling, thanks largely to a sterling performance from Akshay Kumar -- who is both suitably weary and suitably level-headed for the part -- enough to anchor the proceedings.

  • Chalk N Duster

Mistaking intent for quality, Chalk N Duster’s greatest drawback is that it tries to take the high moral ground without substantiating its material or projecting the least bit of depth

  • Wazir

Wazir's problem, then, lies not in the fact that it does what is expected from a thriller; the problem is that it does everything expected -- which makes it a film that surprises little and adds up to nothing of consequence.
