The writing goes from being focussed to being all over the place. In effect, the balance of the film isn’t right. It’s too intense in some areas and playful in others.

...a lopsided effort – some scenes leave you cringing while others have you rolling on the floor with laughter. A little more quality control would have given us a far better film...

...director Anil Sharma has taken too much upon himself. Yes, he has shown us what all his son is capable of doing but neglected to give us a well-rounded film in the process.

  • Sab Kushal Mangal

...does make the right noises about how dowry still makes life hell for the girls and that they should be allowed to make their own choices. It asks questions but doesn’t offer any concrete solutions.

If only the makers could have gone for a lighter veined romance instead of heavy handed drama. This hesitation is keeping a singularity to the storyline and treatment is jarring, to say the least.

  • Ishqeria

There is a line in the film -- Sabko confuse karna band kar do. That was the director talking to herself but alas she didn’t listen to her own advice.

...is a film made with the right intentions but suffers from faulty execution. The film's screenplay, direction and editing all needed more work.

...all this would have made for a memorable comedy of misadventure but Rajkumar Gupta chooses the tread the thriller road. Sadly, he chooses to do so at a lethargic pace and hence, the punch when it does come loses impact because by then you’ve given up on the film.

David Dhawan survived because he gave the audience what they wanted but he seems to have misread the changed perception here...

  • Fraud Saiyaan

Comedies need an emotional track for them to work. Or at least the gags need to be structured like a Mexican Wave so that you lose yourself in the slapstick and forget the logic. The present film fails on both counts.

  • Marudhar Express

The film had the potential to be a bitter-sweet comedy about relationships but in its present form, remains a classic case of opportunity gone waste.

  • Veer

One expects to see lavish war scenes with a scintillating fight to the finish. The screenplay builds up to it but fails to deliver the coup de grace.

  • Heropanti

The Hindi remake remains faithful to its Telugu original in every frame and perhaps that’s it Achilles’ heel. A deviation in the treatment and narrative would have made it a better film.

  • Rangeela Raja

Both producer Pahlaj Nihalani and his director Sikander Bharti seems to be stuck in the ’80s and ’90s. Everything is brushed with a stroke of broad comedy and a sensitive subject like rape rehabilitation is reduced to being a family drama.

  • Aakrosh

All those boys and girls who have seen Mississippi Burning raise their hands. Because Aakrosh's best scenes are copied from the Gene Hackman, William Dafoe thriller.
