    It's not just the writing, which can be as pallid as the production design is vibrant. We've had it till here with the re-enatment of recent YashRaj and Karan Johar film scenes.

    ...so we get Mani Ratnam's politics. What we don't get is his art. This is perhaps his most beautiful film--and that's saying a lot for someone who makes such an effort to frame his scenes. But it is also one of his weakest central characterisations.

    Is this a movie one should watch? Yes, I think so. Not because of its message, that anyone with a pure heart can achieve what he wants, even if it is to meet the President of America, but because of Shah Rukh.
