  • Bala

In that a body-shaming-themed film HAS to follow a certain trajectory, Bala holds no surprises. The one-liner insights and performances though are enough to see you through two hours. It actively avoids a few eye-rolls too.

  • Baahubali 2: The Conclusion

There is drama in a film and then there is grand drama. In the latter, the story matters even less. It is the scale, the action, the special effects that the film is shooting for and achieves.

  • Badmaash Company

It's everything that's fun about a conjob - the core idea, the wool-over-the-eyes, the joke at the victim's expense. Everyone gets their just desserts and surprisingly all ends well.

  • Badlapur

A well-made, well-performed revenge drama that makes you question your definitions of right and wrong, even if the story is unconvincing.

  • Badla

Many mystery stories for one. Each one drawing you in, to think about the details. What more can we ask for? Have great actors tell us the stories? Sure, take that too.

  • Baby

While Baby has the usual trappings of being predictable in the larger picture, it grabs your attention and keeps it there, especially post-interval.

  • Baar Baar Dekho

A long-winded way of saying something quite simple, really. The buildup and guesswork all seem like they want to lead you up to something very profound, but nada.

  • Baaghi 3

Has the power to numb your brain to inane action, to bore you with same ol’ action, to tire you with relentless action.

  • Baaghi 2

I am pleasantly surprised by the attempt at a detailed story. That, in the end, it all turns out to be rather ‘meh’ as expected, is another matter.

  • Baadshaho

Delivers a story with lots of style - in the first half. Alas, you come to expect what happens in the last hour and lose the thrill along the way.

  • B.A. Pass

Not too often is women's sexuality or rather her openness about her sexuality explored in Hindi films. For that, BA Pass can be appreciated. But other than that, it is a pretty hollow affair.

  • Azhar

A collection of newspaper articles presented in the form of moving images. Yet, it brings some form of closure to not-so-happy trip down nostalgia, even if it is fictional.

  • Aurangzeb

...makes the corrupt cop theme interesting. For that itself, it becomes worth a watch despite being a little drab and a little stretched out in the end.

  • Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge?

The light tone keeps you engaged for most of the film, especially the parodied songs. There are a few "aawwww" moments too. But, it is a tiny lecture on the changing value system and gets a little sarcastic.

  • Article 15

Of course, it supports an ideology, has an agenda and is prejudiced. The real question is, would we be surprised if we read a page-7 headline of such an incident? Would we be shocked if we knew for sure it really happened? No, right? Exactly why such films need to be made.

  • Arjun

...has decent animation by Indian standards which equate to very average ones by international ones, notwithstanding the differences in budgets. Also, the great epic has been tinkered around with to no advantage.

  • Anjaana Anjaani

After all, you can say "boy meets girl" only in so many different ways. Despite that when you have fun; and you care for the boy and the girl; you know you are watching a brilliant film.

  • Angrezi Medium

Guilt-tripping masked under the garb of a parent-daughter relationship. If the masking is intentional, it’s a shame. If it isn’t, then the writing is all over the place.

  • Andhadhun

An absolutely absorbing first half written, performed and executed so well that the slightly convoluted and stretched second half cannot mar the experience.

  • Always Kabhi Kabhi

The lasting impact though is of only "blah". It doesn't remain the chick-flick it starts out as, nor does it execute the message it wants to put across well.

  • Aligarh

It is an important film. It is a courageous film even. The film does some things really well. But, it isn't necessarily an absorbing one.
