  • One Night Stand

For a film which wants to strike a blow for feminism and sexual freedom, there are some troubling misogynistic touches about ‘hot’ secretaries, and ‘stay-at-home’ wives. Careful, your slip is showing.

It is a wonderful, grasping, knowing performance, the actor and the star all rolled in one, all at our service, even as they service Shah Rukh Khan’s stratospheric stardom.

  • Ki & Ka

Great to see the premise– send a woman out, keep a man in, and reverse gender expectations- on screen : it just needed to have been sharper and deeper.

  • Jai Gangaajal

Priyanka Chopra’s too-sophisticated unmade-up-make-up is very distracting, even in her few convincing moments. And the film goes on for far too long, even when we know how all of it will end...

  • Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3

This film calls itself a ‘sex comedy’: I don’t know about you, but this business of keeping actors standing in a room in one line just the way they would in a sit com, apart from Tusshar’s constant presence), and tossing juvenile lines amongst themselves, doesn’t spell ess-ee-ex to me.

  • Jugni

The film turns clunky in other places, the first-time inexperience showing, but we don’t really mind, because it has that rare thing : a soul, and of course, song. I came out humming.

  • Wazir

There’s enough to watch in ‘Wazir’ despite its flaws. It reaffirms something we’ve always known: that there’s nothing to beat a plot-driven film.
