Angry Indian Goddesses
Being labelled ‘goddesses’ seems like a ploy to reel in non-Indians looking for exotica, something the director does well. It doesn’t do these lovely ladies any favours.

Hindi Medium
The flat writing which doesn’t quite know whose side to take — show up the parents desperate for English-medium schooling, or point fingers at those who are inept gatekeepers of these bastions, or both, by sentimentalizing those who live below the poverty line as `good’ and `noble’ — turns this film much less than it could have been.

Judwaa 2
For a comedy whose plot would make a wafer look thin, the lines have to be razor sharp, and delivered in just the right rhythm. This is where the director falters, even as his son tries his best to give us two for the price of one on the other end of the screen.

Saand Ki Aankh
In the film, the elderly women are played by two twenty-somethings buried under layers of prosthetics, and that, right there, is the problem.

Road to Sangam
What could have been an effective clarion call to peace is drowned out by rhetoric.

Raavan
Mani Ratnam's re-telling of the epic attempts a classic subversion, with seriously mixed results. 'Raavan' is more miss than hit.

Dunno Y Na Jaane Kyun...
...a good idea wrapped, and nearly hidden, in clunky execution. Every time something real struggles to come up, it is buried quickly under amateurish acting, or over-written plot points.

Chala Mussaddi - Office Office
Satire needs sharpness, or it can just end up as a stretched out sit-com : Mussaddi Lal is saying things we all need to hear, but the film manages to make the cut only some of the time.

3G
Nothing we haven't seen before, in various films that dabble in the weird-things-happen-to-nice-people territory.

Uri
For a film about active blood-letting, it is curiously bloodless. There are not enough of the rousing goose-bump inducing moments that such films come armed with. When a character shouts, how’s the ‘josh’, you want to add to it: where’s the ‘josh’?

Right Yaaa Wrong
The trouble with 'Right Yaa Wrong' is that it’s not tight enough, getting derailed when the little boy comes on for his I-love-my-papa scenes, and other extraneous stuff.

Toonpur Ka Superrhero
Good for little kids who haven’t been exposed to the delights of cartoon network. If there any left.

...could have been a nicely understated, seriously scary chiller. But it gets too wordy and too deliberate for its own good.

Mere Brother Ki Dulhan

Khichdi
...this one is strictly for those who love Khichdi, the serial, with a passion, and miss it enough to want to watch the movie, which plays out like four or five extended episodes.

Agent Vinod
You can see the Bond-Bourne-Ludlum influences, but not the unfettered play of Sriram Raghavan’s wit and intelligence. Where's the fizz?

Shootout At Wadala
What stops it from becoming the film that it could have is an avalanche of dialogue, the sort of smart-alecky lines that sounded so right in the 70s.

Indu Sarkar

When films are this predictable, the only way you’re going to get people watching is to keep everything jumping. On that score, Speedy Singhs falls woefully short.
