  • Kabir Singh

...I assumed Vanga (Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga) was making a cautionary tale. Instead, Kabir Singh actually applauds its pathetic protagonist, and ends up an obnoxious celebration of toxic masculinity.

...has a soul that is lacking in a lot of films today. It has a message also, which one can take back home. What it lacks is the grip, the magic and the experience of a Bollywood film.

  • Kaalakaandi

Every other actor -- be it Shobhita, Neil Bhoopalam or Amyra -- falls victim to an ill-thought, half-baked screenplay. Kaalakaandi, nonetheless, has its moments and Saif Ali Khan’s uninhibited performance tops the list.

...is a B-grade genre film elevated by the blazing talent of its lead player — Hrithik Roshan. Hrithik invests so much sweat and sincerity in this slim story that he forces us to stay invested in it.

  • Junooniyat

Gulshan Devaiah and the cinematography by Attar Singh Saini are the two good things going for the movie, but do little to salvage the bad script.

In between bizarre and shocking, Raai Laxmi keeps gyrating in body-hugging suits and shiny bikinis. She also dances on a song titled ‘Malasina (or Mala Sinha!) Dikhayegi Filmy Dance’. She oohs and aahs, even unhooks her bra twice or thrice, to make it work, but all in vain.

...like the original, isn’t a piece of art, in fact it’s mediocre, but it’s that one film which may lift your mood.

  • Jannat 2

Logic isn’t a priority here. Deshmukh is creating an old-school Bollywood film with high drama, punchy dialogue, thunderous background music and villains who glare and maim with aplomb.

  • Jal

Girish showcases love, lust and thirst in a simply and beautifully woven story. If simple human emotions are your fill, you should certainly watch Jal.

  • Jail

What we may have liked to know, like with any story, is something more about the hero himself — his past, his conflicts, his shattered dreams. It could’ve greatly helped with the sorely missed empathy.

  • Jagga Jasoos

It’s a cliché, but no other word can sum up Jagga Jasoos better: Cinematic. Well, that’s it. Jagga Jasoos is the most ‘cinematic’ film you have seen in the recent months.

  • Jabariya Jodi

Director Prashant Singh’s treatment of an important subject that is begging to be turned into a social satire bursting with local flavour, leaves the film stranded with an identity crisis.

  • Jaana Pehchana

Tell me another movie that uniquely offers you time-travel and lessons in pop-culture history such as this, and I'll hand you over the right side of my brain that seems to me a bit wobbly right now anyway.

...tries its best to create intrigue, and doesn’t give the audience a lot of time to think twice about a single event. That is its biggest achievement.

  • Ishqiya

This road film is in parts, an Yi Tu Mama Tambien sort of bizarre romance, an El Mariachi type curry-western, and a City Of God kind of grimy thriller. Yet, the pungent odour is entirely original. Oh smell it - for sure.
