  • The Dirty Picture

Silk (or Balan) concludes – There are three things you need for a successful film: entertainment, entertainment, entertainment. Over here, "I am the entertainment." She is absolutely right, beyond first-rate.

...will not give you an adrenaline rush, but a serene feeling that stays with you long after the film is over. Alia Bhatt, who's still the student of Bollywood, has the makings of a superstar.

  • Mantra

Nostalgia is eternally beautiful because memory is so selective. Mantra is worth watching if only to be able to be able to look back at that period – the 1990s to the early 2000s – and remember what it was really like.

  • Manikarnika

There is much intent on display, and while Manikarnika could surely have been sharper, its very existence feels like an arrow against cinema’s patriarchy, a broadside against the boys.

  • Mumbai Saga

  • Mom

The good thing is, Mom does what it intends to: Become a film that can hold the audience’s attention for 148 minutes. There are no intricacies that unfold step by step (it’s mostly predictable, really), but Girish Kohli’s screenplay ensures an entertaining drama.

  • Anaarkali Of Aarah

...brings forth a world that’s out of focus and needs our attention. Marginalised sections are fighting their own battles in this part of the globe and Anaarkali Of Aarah wants us to be sympathetic to them.

  • Karthik Calling Karthik

As an audience, you’re not always two steps behind the script either. But that doesn’t take away from how the film holds you, almost all the way. This isn't easy. I suspect you’re not going to love the sound of a ringing landline for a while. I hope you don’t question the workings of your brain as much.
