Ladies VS Ricky Bahl
Critic reviews and ratings
-
...does attempt at portraying various shades of a women without stereotyping or caricaturing them. Yet, though the film is interesting it is not entertaining enough.
-
...a good, fun weekend watch.
-
...is, at best, a decent fare, which appeals in parts. The film starts well, even ends well. It's the in between that's plain ordinary.
-
...may not be another Band Baaja Baaraat but undeniably calls for a good one time watch!
-
...a decent entertainer and deserves a watch.
-
...there is no humour, no earthy flavour, no tingling chemistry between the lead pair...
-
The world has moved on to organic from synthetic, Mr Chopra. Wake up before you drown in the plastic.
-
At worst, the film remains then a yawn inducing, half explained romance; at best, it's an effortless watch all the way.
-
Thankfully the movie doesn't con you of your time and effort. It entertains you and serves up enough thrills and spills to please. But it also doesn't give you something you'd remember till Yash Raj's next film.
-
...an easily watchable film with much to smile about. Pity it could've been so much more fun.
-
So much for subversion.
-
...a decent entertainer but also a bit of a disappointment. So much could have been done with this plot, but sadly wasn't attempted.
-
The ending of a movie like this has to choose between corny and ironic. In Ricky Bahl, it's salvaged from falling flat by sparkling dialogues and good acting.
-
Fairytale stuff but presented well. Well enough to be kept entertained for a major part of the film.
-
...proves that old adage : newness has a habit of wearing off.
-
...strives to pack in so much lime, chutney and what-spice-you into its paper thin storyline that it could well have been titled Ricky Bhel Puri.
-
Sharma's film mirrors the chemistry between Ranveer and Anushka: faux, unconvincing, slapdash and hurried.
-
An inexplicably sluggish pace and forgettable songs thrown in every few scenes kill any possibility of a narrative rhythm
-
...the film just never gets wickedly humorous, or achieves a sense of challenge and risk; neither does it get sympathy for the girls, so the viewer is never absorbed in the story completely.
