  • Phillauri

This may manage to capture the imagination of tweens and under. Also, if patience is a virtue you pride on, the pace of this film will put you through a grueling test.

  • Khajoor Pe Atke

Enough fodder for a black comedy? Perhaps, but this one goes a bit overboard, and the practical humour they hoped to conjure seems only too laboured.

Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga barely alters his original script to localise this Telugu import. While most lines seem verbatim translations, some of the rage seems to have been diluted for a more universal appeal. In any case, snipping off 40 minutes from the runtime would’ve surely helped.

  • Motichoor Chaknachoor

Despite a shaky start, the film manages to engage and entertain in spurts. But sharp quips and jibes can only carry this film till the end of the first half. Post interval, we’re tossed into a saas-bahu-grade intense family drama.

  • Pad Man

...it barely alters the squeamish attitude many hold against the routine discomfort biologically assigned to all womankind. And this is where R Balki slips. It was a noble cause for sure, if only the makers would have soaked up some of the melodrama.

  • Mission Mangal

...seems a timely tribute to the unsung heroes who don’t wear a cape. But for a film that documents a singularly inspiring story, the writing doesn’t manage to conjure the thrill surrounding this epic achievement.

  • Running Shaadi

...this one had potential for a crackling comedy. But it fails to capitalise on the quirks as it is too consumed by the basic premise and dives right into the pitfalls.

  • Kalank

It’s hard to not be awed by the grandeur of the film, the lavish couture on display and the easy-on-the-eyes star cast. However, it’s also equally hard to ignore the fact that the filmmakers could have easily done so much more with the resources and premise they had at their disposal.

  • Krrish 3

Despite the relentless violence and a clobbering of the senses, there's nothing here for anyone older than age 9. Once you accept this, it's a film easier to digest.

  • Befikre

For an Aditya Chopra film, this one is disappointing. The director, credited for epic romances, seems to be too consumed by his exploration of contemporary relationships, to be bothered to construct a story worth telling.

  • Sarkar 3

Once a revolutionary filmmaker, that Ram Gopal Varma trailed away from his original vision isn't news anymore. But it's upsetting to see a filmmaker assassinate his own franchise by excessively indulging in visual gimmicks.

  • Ittefaq

If one were to list the things that counter this film's ability to deliver as a tight thriller, it would be a long one. While it's unfair to compare, if this remake were to be viewed as a standalone watch, it would still barely hold up.

  • Malang

...the proceedings get so tedious and laboured, we hope some of those numerous drugs passing hands would be included in the price of this multiplex ticket.

  • Table No. 21

Concept-driven maybe, but Table No. 21 remains, at the end, only that - a good concept on paper that is never quite realised in its execution: whether it is in the writing, directing, or acting departments.

  • Wazir

Chess is considered the most complex board game and one that provides mental stimulation; this film is neither complex nor stimulating. At best, it's a series of predictable ploys strung together with the backdrop of a revenge drama.

  • Poorna

While Poorna is dedicated to two people who happen to be the maker's "auricles and ventricles", it ironically lacks just that — heart.

  • Parmanu

Director Abhishek Sharma had a compelling story which could’ve rendered a thrilling watch, if only he could’ve focussed on telling it with some conviction. Perhaps throwing in a few more turns in the script and cumulatively making the inevitable seem bleak may have been the answer.

  • Mahabharat

...it's not easy to make animated films and - unlike live-action movies where magic maybe created in a moment on set - it requires toil and an imaginative force that must sustain for months and years. And in Mahabharat this endeavour shows, earning it an extra half star. But where are the new ideas?

  • Hawaa Hawaai

Gupte works hard to imbibe collections of moments into his storytelling; the love and conviction for his subject is indisputable. Hawaa Hawaai isn't as compelling as his previous efforts, but still merits a watch for the gratifying culture he has constructed.
