  • Saand Ki Aankh

...the bad prosthetics do irk and irritate at the start, but slowly you begin to overlook the cakey make-up on the faces of Pednekar and Pannu and begin warming up to the place, its people, stories, struggles and, most of all, a matter-of-fact rustic sense of humour.

  • Rustom

...there is nothing remotely credible or engaging in the thriller. The film, in fact, feels like a parody of the several murder mysteries and court room dramas we have seen down the ages.

  • Rough Book

...maybe a well-intentioned film that tries to talk about education’s descent into business in the country. But it is impossible to take it seriously.

  • Romeo Akbar Walter

Fashioned along the lines of the childish, old-fashioned B-grade Bollywood-Hollywood thrillers, RAW is all about the hidden transmitters and surveillance rooms and gratuitous third degree torture in ISI detention centres, laughable polygraph tests and sundry similar procedurals and investigations.

  • Rocky Handsome

An adaptation can always be done with one’s own distinct touch. But Rocky Handsome is happy and satisfied in living off borrowed aesthetics even while clinging to its Indian self for all the wrong reasons. It ends up being neither here nor there.

  • Ribbon

Despite an evident lack of flourishes and drama; a straight, linear narrative; no major ups and downs, nor sideways swings and an unadorned style Ribbon manages to engage.

  • Rangoon

...is an ambitious but overblown, overlong jumble because Bhardwaj decides to take on too many strands. And he doesn’t knit them well as a whole.

  • Rang Rasiya

Engaging in parts, the lack of material on the subject and the contemporary relevance of the points it raises makes us ignore the flaws in storytelling.

  • Ram-leela

If you are in the mood for a sensory overdose, this might just be your favourite Bhansali film. Else, just go watch it for the leads. They are scorching hot and super talented. And that just might be reason enough.

  • Raid

In spite of these right noises things still don’t turn out rousing enough on screen. A messy climax and clumsy reveal further seal the deal.

  • Raazi

There’s a lot going for Raazi yet there’s a nagging lack of novelty — whether it is the film’s plot, message or Bhatt’s ability to cry.

  • Raaz Reboot

Nothing changes in the fourth of the Raaz franchisee. If at all the chills and thrills seem to run dangerously out of steam and some scenes turn out unintentionally funny.

  • Raag Desh

...the tension, excitement and exhilaration in a story so potent is diluted by a choppy narrative that is reminiscent of a soporific history class.
