  • Jeena Isi Ka Naam Hai

Choppy dubbing and lazy editing seal the movie’s fate. Almost two-and-a-half hours later when you’re defeated by a film that doesn’t seem to end, there’s a song so tacky, you feel you’ve had it. But does it end there? No...

  • Commando 2

Overstretched and uninspiring, this film is reminiscent of a poor man's Abbas Mustan film. Even decent action cannot salvage this dreary supposed crime thriller.

  • Mona Darling

As far as thrillers are concerned, some essential elements are a tight story, an unexpected twist and a couple of nice frights. In this one, all three are missing.

  • Rangoon

In his attempt to pack in too much on war, love and deceit, the maker ends up with some haphazard division of war scenes versus love games, leaving the viewer muddled.

  • Irada

If intention is everything, you may feel kindly towards Irada. Unfortunately when it comes to a celluloid experience, story-telling is prime. Here, the film falters.

  • Alif

...has many good points, along with a strong story, which shows how an orthodox approach to education, in this case in Islam, can ruin lives; both young and old. However, execution and performances fail this film from rising above being anything more than a film with a ‘message’.

  • Raees

The movie can feel a bit long, but if you’re going for a great Shah Rukh performance and some good ol’ popcorn-entertainment, it might just ‘raees’ to the occasion.

  • Coffee With D

It could have been good film, but the undoing of Coffee With D is its post-production. The film is let down by shoddy editing and a bad dubbing job where entire sentences are muted and out of sync.

  • Befikre

If you care for some laughs, some YRF nostalgia and are, well, promiscuous with your choice of romcoms, you could take a chance with this one.

  • Moh Maya Money

The twists are interesting, unexpected and add to the story. It has a non-linear narrative, but it's not tough to follow. However, the loose ends could have been tied up well, and the end leaves you wanting more.

  • Dear Zindagi

...unlike her first film English Vinglish that hit the bullseye subtly, here the message is hammered. Of course some of the writing has merit.

  • Tum Bin 2

Despite the odds, if you like old-fashioned love stories with great music, Tum Bin 2 is a partially heartrending tale that can be watched for its beautiful message and sincere execution.

  • Dongri Ka Raja

To give it a little credit, the movie has a surprising feministic subtext in the love story but it gets diluted quickly. And all you’re left with are dozens and dozens of cat-and-mouse chases.
