Director Abhishek Kapoor’s attempt to make a film set against the backdrop of a natural calamity of this proportion is ambitious and sincere. The setting is what makes a difference, because the simple and predictable love story doesn’t really rose above the water level.

...this film should be judged as a stand-alone offering because attempts to compare the two versions will find the current one falling short, especially in the dialogue and music departments.

  • Maatr

...the amount of bloodshed, leaves you asking, what is worse. Are the images of rape gorier, or is the bloodshed of the perpetrators of the crime, grosser?

  • Made In China

...carries the message of normalizing conversations around sex and exposing the taboo and hypocrisy surrounding it, which is a commendable effort but it also does get preachy.

Sonam Nair's 'coming of puberty' film handles simple issues sensitively, though it doesn't delve too deep. The subtlety appeals, but lacks drama in the second half, with a mediocre climax.

  • Anna

For the layman, it acts as a guide to his work over the years, but for those familiar with his work, it might seem too simplified a presentation of events that shaped Anna into the man he is today.
