  • Nanu Ki Jaanu

Social messages in a ghost-romantic-comedy. Yes, that’s 4 genres in one sentence. And that’s not counting the many “Public Service Announcements” within those social messages. A bit much that alas adds to not much.

  • Loot

Loot is confused between being a regular, loud slapstick and being one of those several threads converge to make a "cool" pulp kind-of a film.

Confused. Both me and the film. Is it a coming-of-age story masked as a family drama or a family drama masked as a coming-of-age story?

  • Student Of The Year 2

Wouldn’t saying, “SOTY 2 is predictable,” predictable in itself? Let’s just say, you get what you expect. Even if there might just have been some potential for change in dynamics between characters, ultimately they are only sly story-telling tactics.

A romantic rumination trying to be sold as a thriller it is not. Interesting but not enough. Lots of philosophy but towards no tangible direction.

My worst fear came true–the action and CGI are good but not enough by themselves to pull you through the overdrawn public service announcement that the film ends up being.

  • Batla House

Accomplished police officers have to defend themselves against allegations of fake encounters–the topic as a central theme for a film is relatively fresh. However, the story doesn’t budge ahead until the last 20 minutes and thus is sadly a tiring bore.

  • Angrezi Medium

Guilt-tripping masked under the garb of a parent-daughter relationship. If the masking is intentional, it’s a shame. If it isn’t, then the writing is all over the place.

  • Miley Naa Miley Hum

Miley Naa Miley Hum ends up being a bland family drama about parents burdening their children with aspirations they have for themselves. It could have been so much better. Oh well...

  • Jannat 2

...feels like a film that could've been a film worth watching once if it had a little better of everything, especially better actors to play the side characters and the villain.

  • Mohenjo Daro

The least Mohenjo Daro could have done is awe you with its scale. Well, It doesn't. Save a few action pieces the film has nothing to enamor you.

  • Housefull 4

Were it not for the general slapstickiness, the extra half hour, the flippant attitude towards writing women characters, Housefull 4 might’ve worked for the few laughs it brings.

  • Crook

When one proudly believes in the goodness of being bad, there's little left to say. The win-win situation - They were good both when the film started well and also when it ended ridiculously bad

  • B.A. Pass

Not too often is women's sexuality or rather her openness about her sexuality explored in Hindi films. For that, BA Pass can be appreciated. But other than that, it is a pretty hollow affair.

  • Kick

...is as typical a Salman Khan film as it gets, plus a tad bit of a story, a tad bit of an attempt at keeping things sorted, a tad bit of an attempt at acting more than usual by Salman Khan.

  • Toh Baat Pakki

A wannabe-Hrishikesh Mukherjee film. It’s one of those simple one-line plots that if told well could be both entertaining and insightful. But, this is neither, mainly because its loud and tries too hard to keep it light.

...gets predictably preachy. No surprises there. It fails to teach in an interesting way despite being in the capable hands of Shabana Azmi, Juhi Chawla and Divya Dutta.

So, I am supposed to find people laughing at perceived body flaws funny? Thank goodness for some great supporting cast, and decent lead cast performances.

  • Pankh

Disturbing abstract stuff. The entire film feels like one huge hallucination. Even if you are ready to take the flight of fancy with a boy who's seriously troubled because his mom made him play girl-roles in films when he was young, it won't be a fun ride at all.

  • Dum Maaro Dum

...makes a crime thriller as disinteresting as it could be. The lines are limp and the situations are far from creative. The plot is strung together with a series of events that have no flow.
