Films with social causes at its core work, but only if they manage to resonate with you in some way. This one doesn’t, at least not to the degree you’d like it to.

  • Tum Bin 2

The first half kinda builds you up while the meandering second half brings you down with its inordinate length.

While Murugadoss leaves a lot to be desired, it is a satisfying one-time watch for an action-junkie.

The return of RGV to Bollywood's consciousness. He's not completely in his usual element here, but there are flashes of his brilliance here, and these, sadly, are few and far between.

Worth one visit for sure for AB Sr's superlative acting and some ceetee-worthy dialogue. As a thrilling drama, it has some bite, but as a suspenseful tale, it lacks teeth.

It makes you proud that such Indian lived among us and makes a compelling case against Indian politicians and the bureaucracy.

This film isn't so much a whodunnit as much as it is a why- and how-dunnit. But it takes too much time building a convincing case of it.

  • Dharam Sankat Mein

If this film has uncomfortable moments, it's the preachy parts. The film gets lost somewhere in the middle around some unwanted melodrama.

Find a cheap morning show if you're really keen on catching this one. Or don't. Even if you're a fan of any of these 'actors' or 'writer' or 'director'. Unless you're a glutton for punishment.

Too long, too contrived but a good-looking leave-your-brains-at-home film.

  • Ugly

It may be all things dark and forbidding this festive season, but it is, with flaws and all, one of the best films you'll watch this year.

Take an aspirin before walking into this one. Twists and cuckoo-ness apart, it's curiously not that much of a suspense story. You kinda figure that out in the first half itself.

  • Happy Ending

If only Raj-DK had kept it as short, simple and precise, this would be recommended as a two-time watch. In its current avatar, one should be more than enough.

Too self-indulgent, Yeh Faasley only serves to widen the distance between you, the viewer and the object of attention, the film itself.
