  • Monsoon Shootout

...there's little intensity as it all seems constructed and trite. Also to be pinned for this half-baked product would be the film's editing which is embarrassingly choppy—not in an indie way—but like the-editor-dozed-off-on-the-keyboard way.

  • Mohalla Assi

...Mohalla Assi’s trivial issues and laboured execution only manage to leave you feeling sedated and groggy — its 120-minute runtime doesn’t even allow one to complete a single sleep cycle.

...this comedy-of-errors had the potential to snowball into a surprise hit. But a predictable plot and clichéd turns and twists reduce this two-hour watch into one that can be either skipped and caught later — when it airs on the telly or that digital streaming provider which hunts for such weekend afternoon comedies.

  • Mission Mangal

...seems a timely tribute to the unsung heroes who don’t wear a cape. But for a film that documents a singularly inspiring story, the writing doesn’t manage to conjure the thrill surrounding this epic achievement.

...director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra offers an art hop here, where every frame is singularly fascinating, yet often, devoid of sense.

  • Milan Talkies

It seems like this film was made in such a crazed frenzy to catch up with the wave of small towns stories that the makers couldn’t wait for the script to commence shooting.

  • Marjaavaan

In this film, someone refers to a “dedh kilo ka dimaag” which is supposedly the most fierce weapon of all. If only it had been utilised, we wouldn’t have had to succumb to this crusade against better sense.

  • Mardaani 2

The decision to not have any songs eliminates the scope for distractions and the approximately 105 minutes that one invests in this watch is largely focussed and tense.

  • Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota

Some of the fight sequences in the film are reminiscent of Stephan Chow’s Kung Fu Hustle — magnifying the aesthetic and theatrics of every blow for maximum impact. The two films also share a common agenda — to tickle you where it hurts.

  • Manto

...in carving this supposedly objective portrait, she ends up with a colourless figure, and her clinical approach and lack of relevant anecdotes, takes away from what could’ve been an engaging tribute.

  • Manmarziyaan

Love triangles are as old as cinema itself. But this one marks an evolution of the genre that most reduce to “who gets the girl?” and comprehensively concludes that often, love is not all it takes.

  • Manjhi

A 124-minute film about a man trying to pull down a mountain could be like staring at a construction site while stuck in a traffic jam. But this one weaves in enough entertainment and thrill to be a lot more than that.

  • Manikarnika

Most know of Jhansi ki Rani from the poem that aptly described the fearless queen. This biopic goes beyond heroics to reveal a resolute yet vulnerable figure. And even while the authenticity of all the events detailed here is debatable, it makes for a decent watch.

  • Malang

...the proceedings get so tedious and laboured, we hope some of those numerous drugs passing hands would be included in the price of this multiplex ticket.

  • Mahayoddha Rama

For those who've watched the televised version in the '80s on Doordarshan, this would hardly be nostalgic. If anything, it will ruin your childhood memories forever.

  • Made In China

Given the premise, Mikhil Musale had a potential rib-tickler here. But while he manages to keep one interested and attentive through a large part of the film, his inability to hold the story together, particularly towards the end, takes the wind out of this one.
