  • Hindi Medium

The film uses mildly-comical satire to put its point across. However, the problem arises when writers fail to wrap it up as satire and succumb to sermonizing.

  • Highway

A warm yet emotionally violent story that sweeps you off your feet, but for a few scenes that go amiss.

...questions traditional methods of teaching while using traditional film-writing, sort-of missing its own point. Thankfully, it is engaging while it lasts.

  • Heroine

Except for a difficult performance by Kareena Kapoor and the lost character she plays, Heroine is one dramatic scene after another without anything substantial.

  • Hello Darling

...aims to take a decent premise and juice the sense out of it. It looks like it succeeds, even beyond the imagination of the makers.

  • Helicopter Eela

A different but thin story-line that stretches too long, most of which you know from the trailer, including the 2-3 funny lines. ‘Different’ gets some points though.

  • Hasee Toh Phasee

A girl-meets-boy story with a difference. A girl-meets-boy story which works despite typical moments that qualify a film as a romantic comedy.

...is a little more than what you'd expect. A tiny surprise that gives you more of the same, but with some structure - even if it tries do a lot in one go and all of it is predictable.

  • Happy Ending

An urban romcom that tries to get a grapple on love. It is charming in its own way, but ultimately ends up having very little more than a regular romedy, as it likes to call itself.

  • Halkaa

Works as the story of a little boy who doesn’t have access to a clean toilet, might seem heavy-handed if watched as a movie with an agenda.

  • Haider

As good an adaption as it could be, even if it loses pace every once in a while, the other elements keep it going.

  • Guzaarish

...is an art museum. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is the perfectly chiseled curator and Hrithik Roshan an almost statue. And this once, it’s not his acting I’m complaining about, the script demands him to stay put. You are watching them etched in many exotic, exquisite paintings frame after frame. So, what if the very basis of the story is pointless and there are gaping holes which are difficult to digest.

  • Gully Boy

You are not once distracted from the run-down underdog story, the almost voyeuristic gaze at the poor, and even the touch-and-go attitude towards a range of serious issues like wealth and gender inequality, domestic violence, drug abuse and parental pressure. That’s the power of its dialogue, lyrics, production design, performances, and of course its music.

  • Guddu Rangeela

A thick plot that throws in surprises but ends the usual way – blah. An overwhelming sense of wanting to send a social message, even if understandable, doesn't help the cause.

Playing the “independence + partition” card with all its strength but ineffectively, there isn’t anything else too novel about the film.

  • Go Goa Gone

Much fun and gore - a combination I never thought would've worked. But owing to some witty dialogue and perfectly timed dialogue delivery make Go Goa Gonea watch well worth it.
