Phantom
There are way too many ways to trash Phantom. But, I'll go with just silly. Plain silly.

Peepli [Live]
We know now that the 'we serve masala because that is what the audience demands' days are numbered. **fingers crossed**

Patiala House
...keeps the balance towards being light. But completely messes up the good, strong start that it gives itself by going the cliched route.

Pati Patni Aur Woh
When you are expecting the worst, the not-bad feels decent, and the possibly-bad gets the benefit of the doubt. That is the middle ground at which Pati Patni aur Woh manages to reach.

Pataakha
Almost every frame of the film tells you it is not about these two sisters, but there is a larger purpose here. Once you give in to this theme and adjust your hearing to its loudness, the film is engrossing while it lasts.

Parmanu
An obviously over-simplified account of an extremely engaging real-life event. The real-life bit is what keeps you glued despite tacky execution.

Pari
This “Good vs. Evil vs. Evil” film is horrifying, terrifying, disgusting and repulsive in turns. Ugh. Guess that is what makes it a decent horror-thriller?

Pappu Can't Dance Saala
Pappu can't even make me laugh saala! Unfortunately, Pappu Can't Dance Saala is not worth it despite Vinay Pathak.

Pankh
Disturbing abstract stuff. The entire film feels like one huge hallucination. Even if you are ready to take the flight of fancy with a boy who's seriously troubled because his mom made him play girl-roles in films when he was young, it won't be a fun ride at all.

Panipat
A Hindi war movie that spends a lot more time on strategy than action extravaganza. ‘True’ to real-life or not, the politics of the situation engaged me enough to think that digesting the complexity needed the 3-hour run-time.

Panga
A charming, uplifting film, about a mother going about the business of being a mother, the warmth of which you will feel well after you have left the theatre.

Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas
The first half, when nothing happens is engaging because of the arresting Himalayas+cinematography. The second half, when the story moves at breakneck speed, is boring.

Padmaavat
An underwhelming fairy tale in characterization, narration and presentation. Not Bhansali’s visual best either. Yet, Padmaavat keeps you interested in Padmavati through 165 minutes, just not as interested as Khilji is in her.

Pad Man
As much a story of tender care, as it is a story of social good and dealing with taboo. Worth a watch – for the avoidable struggle a common man went through because of the many social factors – even if not on the big screen.

One By Two
An attempt at being fun, cute, and philosophical. You wish it were an attempt with more conviction. Yet, a decent TV watch.

Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Dobaara
Love, loyalty, hatred - themes that could've been so much more than heavy lines delivered in a heavy tone.

OMG Oh My God!
A logical yet over-simplified take on the arguments against blind faith. The attempt is to keep the arguments balanced yet the film's events are way too convenient.

Not A Love Story
Superlative performances hook you into a disgusting story that comes from newspapers despite RGV going even crazier with his camera and sound departments.

Noor
Coming-of-age, social message, comment on media, con-men – Noor covers a lot of ground. Which might have been fine, if only it didn't start its sermon.

No Problem
No logic, no logistics and no laughs either. And while I'm at it yes slapstick, yes loud, yes tiring, non-stop nonsense.

No Fathers In Kashmir
A film well made. A story that is as heartbreaking as it is hopeful. An attempt at a balanced view, even if not completely successful.

Newton
You brace yourself for the highest degrees of scathing cynicism when you walk in to a film about India's election process. You walk out with a smile that balances the skepticism with healthy hopefulness. Those are just a few “when was the last time that happened” packed in 100+ minutes.
