  • Alone

...director Bhushan Patel relies on all the usual tropes- from creaking doors and barking dogs to rearranged dolls and creepy reflections - delivering no more than two decent scares in this criminally uninspired film.

  • Aligarh

...is an important film, and it's powered by sensitive writing, nuanced direction, and masterful performances from its central players.

  • Aladin

...it's a worthy watch, especially for the kids. It's also a rare reminder that you can have good, clean fun at the movies.

  • Akira

...built on a weak script that's sorely lacking in subtlety and nuance, the film is ultimately a bore.

  • Ajji

...is a tough watch. Deliberately so. It took me a long time to get the film out of my head, and while it’s potent and rattling, it’s not for the faint-hearted.

  • Agneepath

...an old-fashioned revenge drama treated in that melodramatic, over-the-top style. You're not likely to be bored by the intense action and the solid performances, but prepare to be exhausted by just how long this film plays on.

  • Agent Vinod

For a large portion of Agent Vinod, you don't know where things are going… and then it all stretches on so needlessly that you stop caring.

  • Ae Dil Hai Mushkil

I suspect you’ll be a slobbering mess at the end of the film, a puddle of tears when the lights come back on. Johar knows how to do that. It’s a skill that’s stayed with him even if his grammar has changed.

  • ABCD - Any Body Can Dance

Like the "Step Up" movies from which it's evidently inspired, "ABCD" has a threadbare, predictable plot, and a cast of professional dancers who can break into gravity-defying moves but can't deliver a line of dialogue convincingly.

  • Aashayein

There are many reasons why Aashayein is a difficult film to sit through, but chief among them is its misplaced sense of self-importance.

  • Aakrosh

...has some powerful, gripping moments. But credit for that must go to 'Mississippi Burning', the Oscar-nominated 1988 film by Alan Parker, of which this film is a shameless copy.

  • A Gentleman

It’s a harebrained set-up and over the next 132 minutes, the makers manage to offend everyone from gays, to African-Americans, to fat people, and just about anyone with a modicum of taste and common sense.

  • A Flying Jatt

Weighed down by a script bursting with clichés, an assembly line of cardboard characters, and tacky special effects and production design, A Flying Jatt never emerges the crackling homegrown superhero film it so easily could’ve been.
