  • Bareilly Ki Barfi

There is a lot to enjoy here but the script contrivances rankle. This is a movie that works on account of the trimmings: the acting, the clap-trap dialogues, and the authentic texture of the world that it’s set in. If only there was more meat to the main dish.

  • Banjo

...the notion of a film about an undervalued genre of musicians is more compelling than "Banjo" itself.

  • Bangistan

It's likely that buried somewhere under all those unfunny jokes, simplistic sermons, and cringe-inducing melodrama, there may have been a promising idea at the heart of Bangistan.

  • Bang Bang!

How many times have you ordered a dish that looks terrific photographed in a menu, but disappoints when it shows up on the table? Bang Bang is that kind of meal.

  • Bajrangi Bhaijaan

...it's more engaging than such typical Salman Khan blockbusters as Bodyguard and Ready, if only because it has a sliver of a story, and its heart in the right place.

  • Bajirao Mastani

...the film also suffers from a condition one might describe as 'Bhansali-it is' – the tendency to be melodramatic, over-long, and highly indulgent.

  • Badmaash Company

Flogging the infamous Yash Raj Films formula of stylish costumes, gorgeous foreign locations and hip dance numbers, Sethi delivers a film that is entirely superficial and staggeringly dull.

  • Badla

The film doesn’t pack the wallop that Kahaani delivered, but it’s a respectable enough thriller that seldom loses grip of its pace or your attention.

  • Baby

Enjoy it for the brisk action thriller that it is, and try not to think about how much better it could've been.

  • Babumoshai Bandookbaaz

It’s a guilty pleasure at best, provocative and titillating. But it’s also overlong and derivative, and gives one of our finest actors little room to do much more than repeat himself.

  • Baar Baar Dekho

For a film about romance and love, Baar Baar Dekho is curiously lacking the messiness of real relationships, and trades in quick-fix solutions to complex personal issues.

  • Baaghi 3

...hangs by a thread off its leading man’s strong shoulders. Tiger is the only reason the film isn’t completely unwatchable.

  • Baadshaho

15 years ago Baadshaho might not have been an awful film, but today it feels sexist, formulaic and completely outdated.

  • Apartment

The film doesn't work from the moment go because the script's amateurish and Mundhra's direction decidedly pedestrian.

  • Anjaana Anjaani

...a challenge to sit through for two reasons in particular - the film has no script to speak of, and the characters are hard to sympathize with.

...is one part clunky, and one part enjoyable. It’s not a perfect film – far from it – but I will admit I came out with a smile.

  • Andhadhun

It is to Raghavan’s credit that he packages this sinister thriller with such bells and whistles like popular 70s film songs and nods to Anil Dhawan’s own pulp hits. The result is a deliciously twisted film that delivers more fun than any other Hindi movie this year.
