...is a classy, satisfying, magnificently inventive package. It heralds the birth of a filmmaker who clearly has the makings of a path-breaker, if he already isn't one.

  • Crazy Cukkad Family

It does have its moments. But the laboured humour and the emotions that underline it get so corny at times that it comes pretty close to flying off the rails.

  • Coolie No.1

...does not take into account that the world has changed since the David Dhawan-Govinda combo churned out hit after hit with their mad capers. The formula that yielded dividends all those years ago no longer does.

  • Cocktail

...has just the right mix of fizz and flavour to allow the occasional and inevitable crinkles of triteness to flow well below the surface.

  • Citylights

It is a film that shocks, provokes and seeks to prick our collective complacency and apathy. That obviously adds up to infinitely more value than the price of a multiplex ticket.

  • Chittagong

...certainly isn't a drab and dreary history lesson. It manages to be a gripping human drama without being either a sweeping Hollywood-style adventure or a Bollywood-inflected patriotic saga cranked up to a defeaning pitch for easy consumption.

  • Chitkabrey

Chitkabrey, which redefines cock-and-bull with gay abandon, is quite a test. Go for it only if you are a sucker for tedium.

  • Chillar Party

It squeezes in a quiet message even as it portrays the world purely from the gawky-eyed point of view of children. The film strikes a perfect balance between the two poles of the script. Well, almost.

  • Chhapaak

...has several parts that are delicately crafted. But the aggregation of the elements that constitute film does not somehow yield something greater than the sum of the parts. Nonetheless the parts that work do make Chhapaak essential viewing.

...serves up a feast garnished with subtle spices. Its aroma is mild and delicate, but the after-taste lingers on for long.

  • Chatur Singh Two Star

This is a film that proffers madness without the slightest semblance of method. It's just as well that there are two stars in its title. It doesn't deserve any.

  • Chalk N Duster

For intention, Chalk N Duster might get full marks, but the execution is so hopelessly ham-fisted that the film can only be described as an absolute botch-up.

  • Chala Mussaddi - Office Office

...does not rise to any great heights, it is certainly not for want of trying. In fact, the film tries too hard – too hard for its own good. The final result is a hopelessly flaccid pastiche of situational gags that relies solely on broad strokes of humour.

  • Calendar Girls

Slapdash and sanctimonious, Calendar Girls is a stunner, but for all the wrong reasons. It is stunning in its sheer stupidity.

  • Budhia Singh

...is by no means a perfect film, but it is an honest, heartfelt and highly effective tribute to a coach and his ward who were bafflingly stopped in their tracks.

  • Brothers

It makes so much noise that any sensible point about brotherly bonding and filial fidelity that it might be trying to make is completely drowned out by the decibels.

  • Boss

The humour is cringingly coarse, the stunts are completely over the top and the emotions never ring true.

  • Bombairiya

...is a tangled mess, neither funny nor engaging. It's a comedy of errors all right - more errors than comedy. Be warned, don't even think of sitting through it. Torture isn't funny.

  • Bollywood Diaries

If only the disparate elements were better dovetailed into the larger picture it seeks to paint, Bollywood Diaries might have had more to write home about.

  • Bol Bachchan

...is a comedy so absurd that it could reduce you to tears of despair. Conversely, if you have the stomach for such rampant silliness, it might propel you into paroxysms of delight. The call is entirely yours.

  • Bodyguard

...if you value the mop on your scalp and the grey cells in your head and want to guard yourself against this potentially mind-numbing body blow, give it a miss.
