Though, the film does seem to have a hangover of movies like 3 Idiots, Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar and even Student of the Year (minus the gloss and sheen), and the major plots twists do become a bit predictable for a few, it doesn't disappoint owing to some cleverly written dialogues and one-liners that leave you in splits at regular intervals.

The strength of Menon is adept emotional drama. He does a good job with complex characters and father-son and husband-wife dynamics. The film is a visual treat. Saif is in great form.

For a 90-minute feature, the pace of Chaurahen is slow enough to induce sleep. Too many unexplained angles and cheesy lines easily throws it into the one-time watch basket.

For a change, there's a more definite story than usual but it's so convoluted and stupid, you’d have actually settled for a film with a lesser story, but which entertained more.

You can see it’s made with love. The intention is honest and debutant director Supavitra Babul’s vision of an entertainer (under parental guidance) comes through.
