    This is neither trademark SRK material nor regular Rohit Shetty action-comedy. Chennai Express is like a ’80s Tamil potboiler reworked with a Hindi cast. It has a unique new flavour.

    ...all this would have made for a memorable comedy of misadventure but Rajkumar Gupta chooses the tread the thriller road. Sadly, he chooses to do so at a lethargic pace and hence, the punch when it does come loses impact because by then you’ve given up on the film.

    ...an engaging film. Sure it’s end could’ve been much better. Sure this isn’t Pandey’s best. But this is still one of the best films you’ll watch this year.
