  • Kadvi Hawa

Despite a running time of 95 minutes, Kadvi Hawa still feels a laboured watch. Nitin Dixit's screenplay trudges along, not digging deep into what has created the harsh landscape that has made the farmer woes from bad to worse.

  • Ittefaq

Director Abhay Chopra, who is also credited as one of the writers of the film, maintains the suspense throughout. Whodunnits are far and few in Bollywood, and Ittefaq is one of the nicer ones.

  • Chef

...is that rare Hindi film that celebrates India's diversity of cuisine and its unfailing ability to whet our appetite and for that alone it's worth a watch.

  • Judwaa 2

...is meant to be old wine in a new bottle. But this is no ageless wine, and maybe, David Dhawan should have checked the expiry date before making the film.

  • Bhoomi

The film once again, reiterates the age-old idea, that there is always a man to save a girl, because she clearly seems helpless to do so otherwise. Oh Bollywood, when will you learn?

  • Simran

...the film struggles with the continuity of a mood or tone. The comedy approach here doesn't pay dividends, with many of the punchlines missing the mark and most having been exhausted in the trailer itself.

  • Daddy

Watch this gangster drama for Arjun Rampal's heartfelt performance. He breathes as Arun Gawli in Daddy. But don't go into the theatre expecting to learn anything eye-opening about the Mumbai underworld. You will come back disappointed.

  • Baadshaho

The plot twist can be called from afar, rendering the whole journey and the final destination entirely meaningless. The nonstop action is a distraction for a lack of narrative.

  • Sniff

The emergence of an adventurous hero and his exploits as a spy should infuse pace and energy into the proceedings but that isn't necessarily the case here.

  • Qaidi Band

...it is Anya Singh who impresses the most as the affable young woman who is hopeful and helpful. Even as the film ventures into unreal and mawkish territory, her Anya remains an idealist, firm that there is good in the world.

  • Mubarakan

Less tone-deaf humour, more quirks, a shorter running time and a more able younger cast and Mubarakan could have been more delightful.

  • Lipstick Under My Burkha

Shrivastava's film is a plea for women to not give up on their dreams and their voices silenced in the patriarchal society. That she does it without being preachy and in an engaging mode makes her film even better.

  • Mom

...scrutinises and lays bare the gaping holes in the law in this country. Its method of making the criminals meet their fate is over-dramatised and problematic. And unbelievable. But who can say no to a tale of a mother's revenge?

  • Bank Chor

...starts as a slapstick comedy with decent laughs, but then goes the thriller way. This is where it falters; neither does the film make you laugh, nor does it deliver thrills.
