  • Desi Kattey

When a film aims at offering violence wrapped around a love story, there’s the possibility of a conflict between the two. Often, violence is romanticised to the point that humane elements are eventually overlooked.

  • Dedh Ishqiya

The best part of this film is perhaps that there is no compromise whatsoever with the pace, the decadence, the beauty and the purity of the language that a setting of this kind demands.

  • Dear Zindagi

... it just appears as if the film's unable to find a point, place a nail there, and just hammer it in. Which was so not the case with Shinde's masterstroke, 'English Vinglish' (2012).

  • De De Pyaar De

The film just stops being about a relationship; let alone romance, or comedy. It's almost like the filmmakers are certain the intended audience won't connect much with such a young-old love, by itself, in a single screen theatre. Well if you think they can't take it, then why make it?

Bejoy Nambiar’s second venture has none of the energy or the edge of his first Shaitaan. But the storytelling shows maturity. A pity that it turned out to be so average.

It can't exactly be termed as Gawli's biopic, because so much of his life is missing from the film. Nor can one say that it is entertaining as it offers nothing new.

  • Dabangg 3

...there's no point intellectualising, analyzing, mentally masturbating over a movie that makes no bones about its severely lowbrow, literally below-the-belt purpose.

  • Daas Dev

This rough, dusty roller-coaster ride though is still about the stolen moments (music included), some delightfully wonky folk, crackling scenes (screenplay co-credited to Jaydeep Sarkar), top-notch dialogues, soaked in the patois of contemporary Lucknow (co-credited to Tariq Siddiqui).

This film keeps you engaged alright. During its two-hour plus period, it makes you snigger, snort, laugh out loud at the unintentional humour and makes you gasp with disbelief at the absurdity of it all.

  • Coolie No.1

None of this campy comedy from the times of Campa Cola is done with any sense of irony. Making everything else that follows seem not so much as an insult to the audience's intelligence, as a movie that ignores your intellect altogether.
