  • Stree

The filmmakers here, supremely strong on craft, pull it off swiftly though, landing most of the punches (including punch-lines) at the right place.

...a thoroughly engaging sporting drama with all its necessary ingredients—namely infighting, warring egos, and sharp strategy...

  • Fanney Khan

You'd be dumbstruck at the unnecessarily complicated mess that the hero finds himself in, merely to serve the purpose of an over-imagined plot.

  • Soorma

With Soorma, Ali confidently gets to the centre, keeps his impulses under check, and plays it totally narrow, and fully straight. And, yes, he hits home, alright. This is possibly his best work yet.

...glaring hiccups in an otherwise watchable and frankly, very enjoyable film. Just don't hope for a warts-and-all biopic.

...Khan plays to the gallery but doesn't look particularly pleased about doing it, wearing a deadpan look throughout. The lesser said, the better about the predictable twists in the actioner.

  • Bhavesh Joshi Superhero

...with some cracker locations and fine camera work otherwise, is anything to go by, you can tell, the chops to recreate a Frank Miller type visual flipbook exist. Except the non-superhero on the screen, like the movie itself, merely moves around in convenient circles, and head-splitting clichés.

  • Raazi

This is a meditative version of a war film, subtly weighing in on human loss and ruthlessness, even as it seldom wavers from checking off all the crackling elements of an espionage thriller.

  • Omerta

It's a shame really that Omerta lacks depth, never giving an insight into Omar's criminal designs. As a thriller, it's pacy and yet, distinctly half-baked and stiff.

  • Daas Dev

This rough, dusty roller-coaster ride though is still about the stolen moments (music included), some delightfully wonky folk, crackling scenes (screenplay co-credited to Jaydeep Sarkar), top-notch dialogues, soaked in the patois of contemporary Lucknow (co-credited to Tariq Siddiqui).

  • Hichki

This film’s intentions—even if multiple, and therefore all mixed up—are laudable, no doubt. But, naah, doesn’t quite cut it, you know.

Internet is really where the scene for this film's genre is. Would I've happily caught this online? Yes. But the invitation is for the big screen? That's being thoda sa ambitious, I think.

  • Kaalakaandi

Is it as good as Delhi Belly? As a script? Possibly. As a film, I felt it lacks rhythm, with too much being force-fed to suit the timeline of one never-ending night in Bombay, even if that's the genre. The end might make you go, 'Eh?' But through it all, you're more likely to go, 'Hah!' So nah, I'm not complaining at all.

...marks Kashyap's fab return to a realm he understands and expresses best -- with all its flaws, angst and humour, Tarantino-esque pop-culture references, making it all as distressing as it is frickin' fun and real.
