...pulls itself (and the audience) into so many different (and opposite) directions, all at the same time, that after a blunt point, you begin to lose interest altogether.

Watch this movie for those sequences when the two leading men are on screen together — men as different as could be, but yet bound by the power of their undeniable talent.

  • No Fathers In Kashmir

...isn't without loopholes. But you are willing to let them pass because the film makes a brave point - no one deserves to be woken up in the midst of the night by the resounding noise of bullets. Can this be rectified? The film makes an earnest plea, urging us to do our best.

Suffice it to suggest that the script, treated with an arthouse touch, has a potential of an Oscar nomination (no less). But you already know, this is a 'Bollywood' event-entertainer, with an understandable mix of memoir and melodrama.

Director Shashanka Ghosh does a decent job of presenting a fantasy tale, but wish it offered a little more than what was expected from this film even before entering the theatre.

The star is the director Shankar still. As a story-teller, you can tell, he could do with simplicity, and a better sense of proportion. As a filmmaker, he's sheer genius. Need better proof? Yes, you could catch 2.0.

...glaring hiccups in an otherwise watchable and frankly, very enjoyable film. Just don't hope for a warts-and-all biopic.

Outside of casual voyeurism boxed into a genre flick, what are you supposed to make of this spoof of a spoof (showbiz/celebrity lives)? That's thing about stuff that's meta—you gotta look beyond what you see.
