    The problem is that here is a film that serves up nostalgia for adults, yet a major portion of this movie is designed for kids. It is in this quest for fine balance that Bubble Gum finds itself overreaching and falls short.

    ...isn't quite as bold as it makes itself out to be. There is kissing, but the sex is tame and wholly unnecessary to the plot. There is blood, but it'll hardly make you flinch.

    Like so many recent Rajshri films, any conflict or provocation mildly difficult to solve is scrubbed away, resulting in a sanitized script. It's all just so easy, makes you wonder what sort of cocoon the Barjatyas lead their charmed lives in.
