Bhangra Paa Le
It’s a fairly ambitious if unoriginal premise let down by staid vision, spiritless writing, middling choreography and music.

Guzaarish
The film tries far too desperately to evoke what Bollywood calls the 'feelgood' factor, but ends up evoking more apathy than empathy. Guzaarish starts off slow and beautiful, but gradually, sadly congeals into a wet mess.

Bhaag Milkha Bhaag
...this indecision to project Bhaag Milkha Bhaag as either a) a man dealing with the painful memories of his childhood in partition era, b) the blossoming of a happy-go-lucky army man into a superstar athlete or c) why an individual doesn't want to visit Pakistan overlaps too often in this three-hour plus, flashback-within-flashback drama to ruin a potentially promising premise.

Fanney Khan
...is in the same space as Tumhari Sulu and Secret Superstar where starry-eyed aspiration and gullible hearts of gold go but nowhere as grounded in reality.

Kalank
...is stuck in a bizarre time warp of real world and surreal treatment. What ensues is not particularly poignant, but breathtaking to behold.

London Dreams
You may like London Dreams for its beautiful frames, some paisa-vasool moments between Salman and Devgn, a good background score and catchy songs. For the rest, you need willing suspension of disbelief. And large doses of it.

Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga
...wishes to lend itself as a significant voice of change and support towards the LGBT community, but its woefully apologetic tone regarding individual choices repeatedly negates it when characters -- both traumatised and enlightened -- spew things like, 'Yeh janam se hi aise hai' or 'I wish I was normal'.

Yeh Saali Aashiqui
...I have to give it to Yeh Saali Aashiqui for showing such raging ambition and commitment to go bonkers all the way.

X: Past is Present
A big part of the disappointment of watching X is in knowing that there were real flashes of brilliance in the script that did not materialise on screen.

Raees
...takes you for a boring ride, trying to soak the gangster's character in filmi spiel that is so typical of Bollywood's masala films when the film's creators realise that the plot is absolutely lame.

Karthik Calling Karthik
Films like Karthik Calling Karthik are all about winding up right. This one fails to make a connect. Pity, it could have been that all important call you've always been waiting for.

War Chhod Na Yaar
The first half of the film has the pitch-perfect tone of a war comedy with some real gems that bind the narrative.

Though the movie piques your interest in bits and pieces, especially in the second half, the abrupt end will leave you disappointed.

Veere Di Wedding
All four friends are distinguished by their appearances and roles, but they are essentially the same person -- conventional to the core. There's no real rebellion, just a consuming love for fashion and faux feminism where every zinger flying out of their mouth sounds like something you've heard on a sitcom or favourited on your Pinterest wall.

Teen Patti
The script doesn't evolve, it just jumps jerkily from one level to another so that the director can take her story to a predictable end.
