  • Veere Di Wedding

All four friends are distinguished by their appearances and roles, but they are essentially the same person -- conventional to the core. There's no real rebellion, just a consuming love for fashion and faux feminism where every zinger flying out of their mouth sounds like something you've heard on a sitcom or favourited on your Pinterest wall.

  • Pankh

..is really not a film for the feeble. The director sets out to shock, scandalise, repulse and disgust you. If you are prepared for this then take a chance.

  • Lafangey Parindey

...like its attention-grabbing title, is unapologetically superficial with a brief attention span. It doesn't dwell too long on the possible complications or questions that may arise in its protagonist's lives and conveniently wiggles out of/wraps up any uneasy development.

  • Lucknow Central

Writer Aseem Arora's low-hanging ambitions and straightforward conflict between negotiators of harm and reform renders Lucknow Central a surprising watchability.

  • Drishyam

It’s a depressingly ordinary film, and the allegedly stolen plot -- about a crime being covered-up -- is something we’ve seen many, many times before.

  • Toilet

...Toilet's sanctimonious tone and melodramatic inclinations that takes every possible complexity -- social, cultural or religious -- and shoves it down the viewer's throat in the garb of rushed protests and simplistic resolve.

  • Aashayein

...works like many of Kukunoor's successful films -- Hyderabad Blues, Iqbal and Dor -- unique stories that start with good intentions, but eventually the treatments amount to nothing spectacular.

  • Jab Tak Hai Jaan

...is nothing more than lovely fluff that could have been shorter, snappier but is definitely worth watching once for the man whose name appears against the bright blue sky – Mr Yash Chopra.

  • Gold

It is only when Gold moves away from Akshay Kumar's blundering Bangla and hockey humbug to become a story of grace among go-getters that it comes close to becoming the movie it should have been.

  • Bhoot Returns

The first half of the film has quite a few nail biting scenes but post interval, the movie gets over on a rather abrupt note. The end credits roll in no time, leaving you with a sense that there's more to the story that's missing.

  • Mukkabaaz

My worry is that many who are not fond of Kashyap's usual complex sensibility would like this latest move: They'll applaud the fact that he's going for the tear glands with brass knuckles on.

The tragedy of Mukkabaaz is not that it aims low; the tragedy is that it aims low and hits.

  • Bal Hanuman 2

Despite obvious snags, Hanuman is an endearing character and kids will love him. It's a must watch particularly for those who've survived on a diet of Superman and Spiderman so far.
