  • Finding Fanny

The much promised eccentricity doesn't live throughout and you slowly lose interest in characters in this character-centric film. Yet worth a watch for the performances even if some are caricatures.

  • Filmistaan

The first half of Filmistaan makes you want to recommend it to everyone around. The second half, though not boring, becomes cliché-ridden.

  • Fan

“You want real acting from me? Here! Take that! And some more!” an emphatic announcement by Shah Rukh Khan in a not-bad thriller.

  • English Vinglish

A simple Indian woman's complexes are explored with warmth and charm. Sridevi brings to us a home-maker's self-doubt with a wonderful performance despite the squeak in her voice and distracting accent.

  • Ek Villain

A revenge saga that works so hard in trying to make you feel for the characters that it fails and you are left gaping at the screen in bewilderment for over two hours.

  • Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga

Ultimately, falls into the category of stories that one of the film’s own characters describes: superficial. While doing so though it has some adorable moments, despite giving away way too much in its trailer. And of course, since it is issue-based, it cannot resist a predictably preachy climax.

  • Dum Maaro Dum

...makes a crime thriller as disinteresting as it could be. The lines are limp and the situations are far from creative. The plot is strung together with a series of events that have no flow.

  • Dum Laga Ke Haisha

That there is a pointer at the scores of social dynamics in an arranged marriage – pressure, gut, looks, submissiveness and so on. Dum Laga Ke Haisha has captured it all so well and in just the right measure to not make it dramatic and yet keeping you completely engrossed.

  • Drishyam

I don't remember the last time my emotions were engaged in a thriller, let alone a pounding heart and racing mind. A psychological thriller that hooks, thrills and keeps you thinking after it is done.

  • Dream Girl

Aims to expand on a hilarious ‘what if’ situation but suffers from an afterthought to philosophise it. Very witty dialogue and good performances in a hotch-potch of a film.

  • Don 2

Smart lines and slick camerawork turns into tiring witticism and regular big-budget technicalities because it is over-written and over-stylized.

  • Dishoom

A thriller that cannot be bogged down by details. An action film that cannot be bothered to even attempt innovative moves.

  • Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji

Mediocre lines are converted to lame by some awful timing and some rock-solid misdirection. Save a couple of interesting characters performed well, there's nothing at all watchable in this 150-minute ordeal.

  • Dil Juunglee

A sincerely superficial film. Makes no attempt at making character motivations believable. A case of “believe it or leave it”. “Leave it”, it is then.

  • Dil Dhadakne Do

A few laugh out loud moments, a smile through and through. A few real problems looked at superficially. Some #FirstWorldProblem you smile a cynical smile at. Unfortunately, a little shallow, a little too flaky and preachy too.

  • Dhoom 3

It is one really long chase sequence, lots of Aamir Khan for Aamir Khan fans and of course you have some smart action sequences. Nothing more than that.
