  • Kesari

...is well-intentioned but bloated. It’s a two-and-a-half hour battlefield bluster that could have done with sharper writing and judicious editing. When the lights come back on in the end, you can’t shake off the feeling of having survived war yourself.

  • Sui Dhaaga

This could have been a neatly-stitched up narrative with its well-meaning message about the spirit of entrepreneurship, but sadly it unravels in its troubling second half.

  • The Sky Is Pink

Despite the blatant manipulation, there are moments that left me with a heavy heart, and with a lump lodged in my throat. Still, watching a child’s life cut short should hurt like your heart’s being carved out of your flesh. The Sky is Pink never bruises you with that intensity.

  • Raid

It’s promising and delivers many rousing moments, but it runs out of steam well before the finish line.

  • Jail

Because it's well-intentioned and settles for a hopeful message, you stay with the film despite the fact that it's never quite compelling.

  • Singham Returns

...feels long and occasionally plodding. There are some nice scenes that inspire police pride, but the predictable story tires you out eventually.

  • Dhadak

...is ultimately a homogenous Karan Johar production that offers comfort in the familiar...for those seeking it. For the rest of us, it’s just baffling why the folks involved would choose to remake a film about the horrors of caste supremacy, but erase practically every mention of caste from the film.

  • It's a Wonderful Afterlife

...is missing the energy and the zing of her previous hit "Bend It Like Beckham", but it's a moderately entertaining film nonetheless thanks to some witty dialogue, and the enthusiastic performances of its two female protagonists.

  • Hindi Medium

Despite its shortcomings, the film is never unwatchable and benefits enormously from a winning performance by Irrfan Khan who makes his every moment on screen count.

  • Pataakha

...feels inconsistent and never fully satisfying. It’s a lightweight offering that’s got its sparks, but doesn’t quite live up to its firecracker name.

  • Ra.One

What's missing from 'Ra.One' is a sure-footed director's touch. Anubhav Sinha fails to bring all the elements together, and while this superhero film has plenty sound and fury, it's sorely lacking slickness.

  • Bullett Raja

With a tighter script and an uncompromising vision, he might've knocked this one right out of the park. At the moment though, it's an easy but forgettable watch.

  • Moh Maya Money

The actors make the most of the material, which is frankly compelling for a good part of this film. The tragedy, alas, is that it could have been so much more.

  • Fukrey

A tighter script and more screen time for the excellent Pankaj Tripathi, as enterprising campus security guard Pandeyji, might have helped turn this moderately entertaining film into a rollicking good caper.

...despite its contrivances, leaves you choked more than once. How can it not, with all that unabashed emotional manipulation?

  • De De Pyaar De

...watching De De Pyaar De is a frustrating experience because while there are things to admire, including the unconventional ending, there is no escape from the lazy stereotypes, the simplistic moralizing, and the episodic, sitcom-style screenplay.
