Coffee Bloom
...I found Coffee Bloom an unexpectedly satisfying film. It is paced in a fashion that might be considered too slow and too languid by some. To me though it felt relaxed, reflective, unusual and offbeat.

Dum Laga Ke Haisha
...Katariya is a master weaver, smoothly bringing together the different threads in the story culminating in a heart-warming climax that is sweet but not manipulative, emotional not over-wrought, and like the rest of the film, utterly real.

Ab Tak Chhappan 2
...is not a film worthy of hate or intense dislike. It just does not have much that’s new to offer. It’s hard to understand why this film needed to be made.

Badlapur
...boasts of many memorable scenes peopled with brilliant actors. The overall feeling though is one of a sporadically, episodically effective film that doesn’t quite add up.

Roy
When you neglect your writing and focus on the surface gloss instead, beyond a point the result is pretentiousness, tedium and characters who deliver philosophies to each other rather than conversing naturally.

ROFLMAOBTPWBBTFIFFWTYCPHI (rolling on the floor laughing my ass off because the promos were bad but the film is far far worse than you could possibly have imagined). Hehehe hehehe hehehehehehehehehehehe.

...he (Arjun Kapoor) is yet to develop the charisma that sometimes enables stars to rise above poor writing and incompetent direction.

Ugly
...when it hits home, it hits home in a way few films have done this year. Ugly could have been a lot more. What it is as of now is worth watching all the same.

PK
...is not as brilliant as Hirani’s Munnabhai 1&2, but it’s still an excellent film that throws up surprises every step of the way. It had me laughing out loud then crying like a baby. It broke my heart then raised my spirits.

Bhopal: A Prayer For Rain
...the film’s simultaneous effort to whitewash the wrongdoings of UCC’s American bosses is repugnant to say the least.

Zed Plus
Dwivedi is best known for the mega-teleserial Chanakya and the National Award-winning film Pinjar. Despite some rough patches, Zed Plus is a worthy addition to that formidable CV.

Happy Ending
...is sadly not as wacky as it could have been, but it’s genuinely funny and unobjectionable, which makes it easy to forgive the film its many shortcomings.

Kill Dil
If Shaad had summoned up half as much passion for this project as Ranveer and Parineeti expend on it, Kill/Dil would not have felt like the listless, criminal waste of amazing resources that it is.

Happy New Year
Team Farah-Shah Rukh are capable of much better in the over-the-top genre that they favour together. Happy New Year is a step down from Om Shanti Om, but if you enjoy boisterous entertainment that is still not entirely mindless, it’s worth a visit.

Daawat-e-Ishq
...is the most irresponsible film to emerge from mainstream Bollywood this year. No, Habib Faisal, it’s not okay to trivialise issues as serious as dowry

Finding Fanny
Clearly the film is aiming at whimsy, a quality so smoothly achieved in Wes Anderson’s The Grand Budapest Hotel that was recently in Indian theatres. Finding Fanny doesn’t have enough substance to achieve its goal though.

Mary Kom
Despite some major grouses with the film, I’ve come away from the theatre admiring Mary Kom and being a little in love with Onler. Mission accomplished, Omung Kumar.
