  • Badrinath Ki Dulhania

...Khaitan loses his grip before the high-voltage finale. In the end, he submits to cheesy-funny ‘dialoguebaazi’. That could help him in evoking some whistles, but it dilutes the purpose of featuring an ‘emancipated woman’.

  • Badmashiyaan

A well-intended sawach-aur-saaf-suthri comedy Badmaashiyaan is a curiously content-driven rom-com with one of the most consistently wicked female protagonists I've seen in recent cinema from Bollywood or Hollywood.

  • Badmaash Company

The picture’s premise is strong. The setting is solid. The scam’s quite awesome. The friends make for quite a foursome. All are equally endearing. As are their antics. And then the screen flashes, Interval. Everything dopily goes down a slope thereafter, and onward to America, arrogance and all that jazz.

...is likely to disappoint Sriram Raghavan fans. The brilliant performances and gripping narrative, nonetheless, will keep you hooked. Watch it for Nawazuddin and Varun Dhawan, if nothing else. Certainly worth your time and money.

  • Badla

...remains an engaging film, and while we can blame Ghosh for casting Bachchan and somewhat spoiling the climax, he can’t possibly be blamed for casting that man in a role that requires a lot of talking.

  • Babumoshai Bandookbaaz

...appears superficial because it fails to explore characters and their idiosyncrasies. It states everything about them in a matter of fact tone which eventually slacken the audience’s connect with them.

  • Baar Baar Dekho

...is hardly even a bird’s eye view of the new generation’s choices and desires. Its philosophy lacks strength and gloss takes the centre stage right from the beginning.

  • Baadshaho

...has too many ordinarily written characters jostling for whistle-worthy one-liners for 136-minutes. Eventually they run short of the steam and Baadshaho becomes a rehashed ‘90s story with some gloss and a lot of disappointment.

  • Azhar

The version is over-dramaticised in stretches but the makers don’t deny any of the allegations, giving the scandal a spin that makes the film an interesting watch.

...is not a film in search of easy answers. Instead, it is a reminder that we already know the questions but don’t ask them enough. Not cool, sir.

  • Arjun Patiala

Spoof as a genre has rarely been tried in Hindi cinema and someone needs to crack that egg – heaven knows there is a lot waiting to be explored; Arjun Patiala, alas, isn’t that film.

  • Apartment

Accept soft-core pornography in Indian films, and you’ll get rid of poor apologies such as these that have to force in plots, since they can’t just make a semi-porn pic instead.

  • Andhadhun

This is why we need directors who refuse to be obvious. This phenomenal new thriller from Sriram Raghavan pulls off its tricks in plain sight. Everybody knows how a mystery should work, but Raghavan knows how all the mysteries work.

  • Anaarkali Of Aarah

...brings forth a world that’s out of focus and needs our attention. Marginalised sections are fighting their own battles in this part of the globe and Anaarkali Of Aarah wants us to be sympathetic to them.

  • Allah Ke Banday

The gangs and their slums are not the same anymore. This would be a minor issue if the picture's setting wasn’t completely the point itself. It unfortunately is. There is no other story. Well. Too bad.
