...is cursed by a mundane script and forceful attempt to get the entire audience in tears. It is a film that seems signposted as a vehicle to attract attention for its committed leading star Salman Khan, but thanks to the team behind it it ends up as a vehicle that never gets out of first gear.

All said and endured, here’s the sort of average product which is immune to criticism. Say anything you honestly feel, down the decades it has been huffed – so what? That doesn’t make a jot of a difference.

  • Simmba

...is just another serviceable action movie that tastes like salted popcorn. It tastes good while it lasts, but eventually you end up rather dry and thirsty. It is all about glam and no substance.

...is one big déjà vu. Not because it is a sequel to an earlier Rohit Shetty blockbuster, but because the film is riddled with clichés and tried-and-tested antics.

...has a funny first half but pales and drags in the second. Sure the comedy is over the top and silly but if that is your cup of tea then a moderate entertainment for couple of hours is guaranteed.

  • Bhangra Paa Le

This sure was a nugget of a pure idea at the centre of this film; it’s plotting that is so straightforward that you would start second guessing the second half and will never get caught up in the predictable story.

  • Mirza Juuliet

The biggest glitch in the film is its narrative. Shanti Bhushan who has written the dialogues and screenplay is clearly blind to the modern way of telling a story.

...the film does offer some shrieks and shocks if you keep aside rational thinking, and if you’re a horror junkie who’s in it only for the chills, you may walk out sufficiently spooked.

  • The Accidental Prime Minister

...the film, coming as it does in election year, has an agenda — it’s politically motivated. And the motive of this tacky, third-rate propaganda piece is all too apparent in the story it wants us to go home with, and the characters it wants us to hate and love.

  • Kajarya

Director is very realistic in her approach and doesn’t go preachy about it. However, with an inconsistent screenplay, it makes the film less engaging.

The film keeps us hooked, but it also irritates. It doesn’t deliver exactly what it promised to, but it does give us the confession we need to hear.
