  • Aligarh

Apurva Asrani, screenwriter and also the editor, and Mehta deserve credit for reminding viewers of a forgotten, reluctant and wronged hero who happens to be gay. Their biggest accomplishment is that they have treated him with respect and sensitivity.

  • Gully Boy

...suffers from a slow pace. The film takes its own sweet time to establish the story. And when it does, there is too little to bask in the glory of. The film ends on an abrupt note. It catapults its underdog to the big stage but doesn't let the viewer soak it in. After investing 2 hours and 35 minutes in the film, you feel a little cheated.

  • Arjun

...isn't the best kiddie flick you'll ever see but it could work as a starter's guide for the little ones, on one of India's most fabled warriors.

  • Dabangg 2

If Dabangg 2 was always about Salman Khan revelling in top form, the superstar doesn't disappoint. He makes Chulbul Pandey even more lovable this time- cool shades, wry humour, crackling stunts and smooth chemistry with the pretty Sonakshi, all very much in place.

  • Mickey Virus

The comic-thriller is fast paced, constantly taking you from one unexpected situation to another. The dialogue is witty, full of repartees and with many smart one-liners that most characters, even the supporting ones get to mouth and display their comic mettle.

  • Running Shaadi

...on paper seems trite, but it is consistently engaging because newer and wilder plot developments get thrown at you and you cannot help but continue to run with its characters to find out what eventually becomes of them.

  • 102 Not Out

...if you are game for a family drama with a message, 102 Not Out is a film for you. Because 102 Not Out has its heart in the right place, if not many other things.

  • Force 2

The narrative is kept straight throughout, sans any convolutions as such. Kudos to writers Parveez Sheikh and Jasmeet K Reen for that. Force 2 has some well-choreographed action sequences with guns blazing in full glory

  • Ittefaq

Director Abhay Chopra, who is also credited as one of the writers of the film, maintains the suspense throughout. Whodunnits are far and few in Bollywood, and Ittefaq is one of the nicer ones.

  • Yeh Saali Zindagi

...is like a blueberry cheesecake. A delightful little trifle that works because the actors don't think they are auditioning for a consumer ad or a fashion glossy photo shoot.
