  • Tiger Zinda Hai

Undeniably impressive in terms of its scale and flawless technical attributes, Tiger Zinda Hai is an exercise that rings utterly hollow. Its surface nous cannot conceal the sheer purposeless of all the noise it generates.

  • Tiger Zinda Hai

At an exhausting two hours and forty minutes, I really don't care if Tiger is alive or a vegetable - whether he's Zinda or Tinda, really - but this film needed to be much tighter.

  • The Zoya Factor

...could have been a thoroughly enjoyable comedy. It ends up being a scrappy, erratic knock where a few crisp strokes are hopelessly outnumbered by a host of ungainly heave-hos. The film does not hit the sweet spot often enough to translate into either a truly rousing cricket film or a memorably moving love story.

  • The Sky Is Pink

...is of a hue that sets it apart from Bose's earlier films, but the director is acutely conscious of the colours she is working with here and uses the shades to deliver a pathos-filled but warm-hearted picture that does not lose sight of its primary purpose. Unmissable.

  • The Shaukeens

This film is a disaster all right, but it is mitigated somewhat by a quirky if uneven subplot that has Akshay playing himself and poking constant fun at the work that he has done thus far as a Bollywood actor.

  • The Ghazi Attack

Much water has flown down the Bay of Bengal since the 1971 Indo-Pak war changed the face of the subcontinent, but the PNS Ghazi mystery, at best a 1971 footnote, persists. This film does not do much to increase our desire to dive deeper and learn more about that obscure chapter.

  • The Accidental Prime Minister

...carries an upfront disclaimer that asserts that it is intended only for entertainment and admits that creative liberties have been taken in the interest of dramatisation. The film, however, is neither hugely entertaining nor engagingly dramatic.

  • Thackeray

...a cinematic lionising of a political career that thrived on exclusionary, majoritarian muscle-flexing. Not a great idea in these fractious times. As provocative as the politics it celebrates, Thackeray is a film that is best left alone.

  • Tera Intezaar

You might ask: why does this film deserve even half a star? Well, it is for whoever it is who dared to believe that Tera Intezaar could be passed off as cinema. Takes loads of guts or a whole lot of stupidity!

  • TE3N

The slow-burning drama about crime, tragedy, guilt and retribution has the potential to repay the patience of those that don’t switch off their brains when watching a film.
