  • Anna

For the layman, it acts as a guide to his work over the years, but for those familiar with his work, it might seem too simplified a presentation of events that shaped Anna into the man he is today.

  • Omerta

...while Mehta gets the mood right, and Rajkummar works wonders with his limited material, 'Omerta' fails to stir you emotionally.

  • Zero

While the film has a wealth of references to Bollywood and its stars, these details don’t compensate for a story that starts with a beautiful plot, but takes off on a bizarre ride.

  • Life Goes On

Director Sangeeta Dutta does manage to sculpt a sensitive portrait of a family in flux and imbues her film with some deft strokes that capture loss and longing.

  • Tezz

...you're left wishing Tezz had more dramatic face-offs between its fine actors but instead, the film diverts into several tracks too many.

  • Race 2

Heists, hot-babes, roulette, raging cars, gizmos and gags - Director duo, Abbas-Mustan have thrown in everything with pompous grandeur, save for a riveting plot that shocks or stuns.

  • Youngistaan

Afzal's 'Youngistaan' at the core is an interesting idea, far-fetched, but refreshing. The love-story develops tenderly, but the political backdrop and ensuing drama is not crafted with clarity. The story suffers from uninspiring dialogues, with a stretched climax.

  • Ek Villain

You cannot fault the scale of Ek Villain or berate its lead star cast. But you wish you could celebrate this thriller like you did Suri's last movie outing Aashiqui 2. This one lacks soul.

  • Mr. X

Bhatt churns out a quasi-gratifying film, which has all the necessary commercial ingredients - from romance to good music to thunderous action sequences.

  • Bangistan

Despite the dry choice of subject, Bangistan makes valiant attempts to keep the humour alive during its two-hour running time.

  • Tubelight

The film that propagates the values of family, faith and patriotism doesn’t manage to take a complete leap of faith because somewhere someone couldn't pull this one off convincingly. In fact, everything is so cloyingly sweet that you start feeling you’ve strolled into a sermon rather than a Salman movie.

  • Thackeray

The riled up speeches, the unapologetic candour and the larger-than-life persona is presented without a veil. While the honesty is commendable, it comes across that the lead character’s political motivations lack clarity. Perhaps a more seasoned writer could have fleshed out Thackeray’s character and eccentricities a lot better.

  • Singham Returns

The plot rumbles with action of seismic proportions, shot grandly in signature Shetty style - high-voltage stunts, death-defying combats, men and machines bursting into flames - served bloody, gritty and unadulterated.

  • Mubarakan

...you just have to go through this garrulous, laugh-out-loud affair with the usual patience and perhaps even some perseverance that you usually reserve for Bollywood comedies such as this one.

  • Ittefaq

...is not a taut thriller that you expect it to be. But if patience is your asset, this unhurried suspense drama can be watched for Akshaye Khanna's crackling screen presence, acting prowess and sublime charm.

  • Photograph

...isn’t a perfect shot and is lured by exquisite nothingness but it’s intriguing and takes you back in time. Like love and life, it’s uncertain and hopeful.

  • Love Aaj Kal
